Xbox restarts when trying to enter wifi info

After doing the blame game between Xbox Support and TWC the latest solution (of many that failed so far I might add) is to replace my modem. (Technicolor
TC8717T)

Problem : Xbox restarts immediately after entering Wifi Info.

It DOES work wired but the cable laying around upstairs layout is a tripping hazard and I'm not hugging the cable around 4-5 different doors, so thats not an option, and IT should work either way.

Mind you I have another Xbox One, Xbox 360, iPad, 2 phones, and a Matricom Box all connected to WiFi and no problems. Only thing hardwired is the PC.

my xbox one restarts when i type in the wifi password

when i enter the wifi password to my xbox one, it automatically restarts and i cant connect to xbox live

I am trying to start up my xbox one console for the first time. As soon as get to the part to enter my wifi password I enter it then it restarts. Sometimes it restarts even before I get to enter it. Is there anything I can do or should I return it?

Thank you but unfortunately already tried all of those options and nothing worked, going to replace modem tomorrow and see how that goes.

Okay so what happen is when i connect to the school WIFI it says it cant connect. the suggested fixes are restarting the router, which i can't do since it's a campus shared router. the other fix was manually entering the WIFI info which was done but still
not working. The IT said that it was my xbox saying it was too old to connect to any WIFI systems and that there was nothing i could do except may talk to someone about fixing the xbox it's self. the thing that confuses me is that if it is my xbox as they
say wouldn't that mean i could connect to any WIFI. I connected it to the WIFI at my friends house, my house and even the WIFI at the hotel when my family came to visit.
