Xbox restarting after connecting to a wireless network?

I just bought an Xbox One S this morning, and I'm currently trying to set it up. However, every time I select a network and connect to it, the console restarts. As well, it will occasionally restart at random, even if I'm not in the connections selection
(which, even then, all I can do is select a language since networking is right after). Already tried playing around with the settings on my wifi to no avail. Is there any way to fix this? Or will I have to return it?

Xbox 360 S wireless N problem

My problem is that my xbox wireless connection defaults to a wireless g connection after restarting xbox. If i then disconnect from the router and then reconnect it comes back on as wireless N. It's almost like it has a save setting to default to wireless
g when the xbox starts. This problem hasnt stopped me from connecting to live, but it is annoying when i have fiber broadband for greater speeds yet i cant seem to utilize this on the xbox.. Any ideas anyone ?

Connection continuously dropping out

First off, check your NAT type settings to see if you have an Open, Moderate or strict. (Open is always best). If you’re connecting your Xbox to your router via wireless, try a wired connection. Try restarting both your router and your console. After restarting
your console reconnect it back to the router by reinserting all information required. Doing a restart and reconnection worked for me when I was having connection issues.

Got a new one, same issue. Tested it and it restarted the console when I connected to the wifi. Not sure what to do at this point.

Hi, it could be the wireless adapter inside the Xbox has failed but give this a shot first.

Go to settings/ network/ network settings/ advanced settings/ alternate MAC address, select Clear and then select Restart. Try the connection again after the restart.

if connecting wirelessly, go to network under settings and forget the wireless network, then restart the xbox and retry connecting to the router

We recommend accessing Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

After going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

Hi Janet,

The problem is still occurring. I still need to completely unplug the xbox from its power source and let it sit in order for it to see wireless networks, sometimes multiple times. For reference, going into settings>network>set up wireless network, no networks show up. After multiple restarts the xbox will see and connect to wifi.
