    So let me start at the beginning,

    I got my xbox One S around 6 months ago and connected it to my TV via HDMI and as I'd expect it auto adjusted its resolution and worked!

    A couple weeks later I got a new TV which is compatabile to 720P. Now it only worked sometimes and I'd have to fiddle around with the cable (TV connection not the xbox connection) to get it to work.

    I tried my Desktop with the new TV via HDMI and it worked. So I used the TV for my computer and just carried on using my old one for the xbox and they worked fine together.

    Now 4 days ago my TV gave out so it was time to buy a new one. I connected my xbox to it and the same problem again. Flickering green screen, blue lines etc. So I put the xbox into 640x480 resolution and it worked. But everytime i try to put it into 720p
    it doesn't work and goes back to flcikering green and blue.

    At first I thought it was the TV but this is 2 TVs now that my xbox hasn't worked with and only worked with my old TV. I've tested a different 720p device with my TV and it worked. So why won't my xbox? Does anyone have an answer to this extremely infuriating
    situation?

    i have that same problem what i do is i hook my one s up to a computer monitor and after it shows 1080 i unhook it and hook it back up to the tv and it's fine but the next day it dose it again but that's how you fix it.

    Xbox One Resolution problems.

    Have you tried altering your hdmi setting to auto detect or vice versa? Remove any discs and try holding power button wth eject button to boot up in safe video mode and then reapply the correct setting. Worth a try maybe.

    Hello Jezalc,

    Thanks for coming to the forums. This is an issue with the TV resolution itself. You will need to use the manual or contact manufacturer as to why it is showing these colors. As 1080p is now a normal resolution for the console.
