Xbox resets when powered off

I've done that countless time for other problems with it. That doesnt fix it.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are experiencing difficulties with your console behaving in ways it was not intended to.

At this point, I would have to recommend using a soft
factory reset on your console. By doing so, it will refresh your consoles operating system, thus preventing this from occurring further.

This can be done by following these simple steps:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select System > Settings > System > Console info.
3. Select Reset console.
4. On the Reset your console? screen, select Reset and keep my games & apps. Use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without
   deleting your games or apps. In some cases, if a corrupt game file is causing the issue you're troubleshooting, you may have to choose Reset and remove everything, but you should always start with Reset and keep my games & apps.

Keep in mind that this will remove all profile and Home Xbox associations on your console, so be sure to have the info in hand of the accounts you wish to recover.

if I'm not mistaken, what it does is clear the temporary cache, not a reset

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to deal with this problem. I can totally understand how this could become pretty tiresome. I suggestgoing to
Settings> Devices and Streaming> Blu-ray> persistent storage
in the Xbox One Guide and clearing that three times. Once that has been done, go to
Settings> General> Network Settings> Advanced Settings> Alternate MAC address, clearing that and letting your console restart.

If that does not help you might need to reset factory reset the console as provided by, but instead selecting the option that removes everything.

I tried that but when i press reset this xbox it powers off then when it powers back on it returns to the same screen.
