    xbox reset to factory settings after update.


    I am in the xbox insiders program, i want to leave it. i have been getting updates every two days. the last two updates have reset my xbox to factory settings. why? does anyone else have this?

    Faulty Kinect - seems a common problem

    Have put my dodgy Kinect on my sons Xbox and it appears to work fine on his!

    Not yet connected his Kinect to test it on my Xbox but will later.

    Guessing it's an issue on the machine and always thought it started playing up after an update. If his is the same I may opt for a factory reset..... Has anybody with Kinect issues resolved by a factory reset?

    Yes and I don't know anyone with these issues. If its been that way since update, I'd factory reset the Xbox and let it do a complete refresh of everything. WARNING: You will have to redownload everything not on external HDD. But it will fix it and probably run better than ever. I always recommend doing factory resets after major OS upgrades like this on PC. Xbox is no different.

    From within the Insiders Hub app, you can go to Insider Content > Xbox One Update Preview (from the System column) > Manage > select Unenroll from the available options.

    As for the factory settings issue - have you checked in the
    Preview forums     yet to see if others are having that issue?
