Xbox reset itself.

Alright so the other day I was watching YouTube and decided to turn my console off. 2 hours later I turned it on only to be presented with the “setup console” screen, we all know it. The first screen you see when you get a new console, or when you have wiped
your console. Mind you I DID NOT wipe my console, I simply turned it off by holding the middle button of my controller. I freaked out, why would my console do this? What happened? Is everything still downloaded? What am I going to have to redo? When I finally
got back to the home screen I figured out all my games were there but the three accounts that were on my console got removed. I had to redo my settings. Re-put on my account and my boyfriend’s account. Everything except reinstall my games. I was chatting with
support and they told me that the preview program did this heart-attack inducing and annoying thing. To which I responded “that’s stupid, this console and company prides itself on customer happieness and asks me about 3 times if I’m sure I wanna i want to
connect my controller to my account. No program should have the power to reset a console without even warning the console owner.” Now in an email conversation, where they won’t say my account was removed from my console, they told me many people are having
this problem. My question to the forums is, who else had this problem?

Xbox Home Resets Itself

Hello. I'm having trouble with game sharing.

I set my friends gamer tag as my Home Xbox and it worked for a month or so. All of a sudden I turned on my Xbox today and it was no longer my home Xbox and I can't play any games. Its like it auto reset itself. Any ideas as to why this may be happening or
a solution?

Yes, pretty much everyone who is in Alpha Skip Ahead had to go through it. There was an issue with one of the updates and that was the only way to fix it. New Preview Alpha Skip Ahead 1810 System Update - 7/8/18 - Xbox Wire

 

If you have feedback for the Insider program you can find them at reddit.com/r/xboxinsiders as they no longer use the forums.

 

Wish they would’ve sent out a notification or something. It freaked me out. If they would’ve notified me and been like “oh to fix one of our updates we need to reset your console” then at least I would’ve known what was going on.

 

They sent out a notification. Please check the
Xbox Wire often for information about the new release notes (among other things).

So my accounts GOLD subscription and Achievements Are all gone AFTER THIS UPDATE ... please help im going to smash my xbox if everything is gone
