Xbox research and design survey question. Is it a scam?

I think it's legit. I get surveys from this suvey gizmo for other services.

I think I got a scam email as well: Invitation from Microsoft Studios User Research team.

to complete. In return for your time you will be entered into a sweepstakes for free Microsoft software (including games!). Please note that the survey is only open to US residents 18 and over.

my assumption is, which is based on my own experience, is that the giveaway is random from all participants that submitted the survey, so not based on the answers, but as said that is my assumption.
