Xbox reporting system

Hi

I am an Xbox gamer and have been for years. I really wish Xbox would stop just suspending players for a report that someone made and they don’t get both sides of the story. All they get is the other persons side and not my side. That seems rather one sided
to me. In my opinion, if I pay for Xbox live just like someone else, then my issues should be considered to be reviewed also and not just that persons. If someone says I did something then Xbox should ask me for my side also and not just get the other persons
side. Make your reporting system more fair Xbox. Not just a one sided thing.

Bhutankam Pema is one of the many helpful Xbox Ambassadors on our support forums. If you cannot open a certain app, which you mentioned you were unable to load the Friends app in your second post, Bhutankam Pema's steps are valid.

If there is a certain player you wish to report, you can always search their gamertag in the Friends app and report or block the player when viewing their profile.

I got reported for nothing. Xbox doesn’t even believe in doing a investigation before following up with a suspension for the fake report. They don’t want to tell you what you did to get the said report if you don’t get a case review. The Xbox reporting system
sucks big time. Xbox needs to fix it answer connect Xbox enforcement with Xbox support.

 

This is how the enforcement system works.

1. Someone reports that you did something to violate the code of conduct which can be read here https://enforcement.xbox.com/en-US/home/codeofconduct

2. That report gets sent to the enforcement team.

3. The enforcement team looks at the report and if there was a violation of the code of conduct then they will suspend the account that violated the code of conduct.

4. If there was not a violation of the code of conduct then they will mark down the person that made the report and if that person is seen as making to many false reports then they could get into trouble.

Keep in mind it does not matter who starts a conversation if a report is made on a message in a conversation that violates the code of conduct then the profile that sent that message is subject to a suspension.

I'll give you an example:

Player 1 (P1) sends a message to Player 2 (P2)

P1 You really are bad at this game and need to get a life

P2 I am not your just mad that I beat you and quit being a *#*#*#***#

P1 Reports the message that P2 just sent and the enforcement team will investigate it and since saying a cussword is a violation of the code of conduct then P2s profile would be subject to a suspension

In this scenario even if P1 had said a curse word and P2 reported and P1 reported his message both profiles would be subject to a suspension because it does not matter who starts the conversation if there is a violation of the code of conduct and it is reported
then the profile is subject to an enforcement action.

If you feel that you should not have been suspended you can sign in at enforcement.xbox.com and file for a case review which is an appeal of your suspension where you can tell your side of the story to the enforcement team and they will reinvestigate the
report and determine if they can lift the suspension sooner.

 

That isn’t what the problem is. The problem is with how the enforcement system works.

 

I appreciate your explanation of how the reporting system works. I know how much it works though. What I am saying is there is a problem with the way it works. When the person is suspended, instead of them having to submit a case review. It should be automatically
investigated.

 

And if you read my post and seen number 3 EVERY report that is made is investigated by a human being on the enforcement team and if there is a violation of the code of conduct then that violation is subject to a suspension.

Plain and simple follow the rules (code of conduct) that you agreed to abide by when signing up for the service and you wont have to worry about being suspended.

I liken this to someone driving a car the know the rules of the road and are speeding and they get caught speeding and get pulled over and get a ticket then want to go and complain that they got a ticket for speeding.

 

I don’t see a problem with how it works. They might be a little overzealous and suspend people for the littlest things, but that’s more of a problem with society since everyone gets offended by everything.
