    After spending 1.5 hours chatting with xbox support for my numerous and frequent plethora of issues that would only allow me to play Halo (the only game I play) about 15-20% of the time I actually wanted to play, my xbox is now a completely useless paperweight.
    Support had me delete my profile and now I cant add a profile back on, getting error code 0x80a40019 when trying to add a profile. Without a profile, the xbox is basically worthless. Support's response was to search the forums for myself, as "other gamers"
    are also trying to solve this issue. I didn't even have this issue before dealing with support!

    My entire experience with XBOX has been absolutely horrible. Halo never worked right, I could hardly ever play it and spent more time trying to get it to start a game than actually playing games, and now nothing works at all. At this point I really just
    wish I could return it and Halo and get my money back and never have anything to do with another Xbox again.

    Seems like they've rendered Xbox Live useless. Everything Xbox and Microsoft stood for has been ruined.

    Xbox live is having some issues at the moment but yours has been doing it for a while so that may not be your problem , sounds like it could be a connection problem...

  5. I did a factory reset on the Xbox. After it saying it couldn't install the required updates about 4 times, that seems to have finally gone through at some point. Then I couldn't add my account during the setup process (got a different error code), but
    I finally could manually after that. Then trying to find/re-download Halo in the store I kept getting "Sorry, it looks like we're having issues on our end" error messages. After wasting 30 minutes trying to get through the store and get Halo to download,
    after clicking "Install" 4 times because the previous 3 times didn't do anything, Halo is downloading again now.

    What a terrible experience. Is this just what is expected of Xbox, to have this many issues trying to do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING, or is mine just a lemon? I'm not a big gammer so I don't have past experience with other systems, but this whole thing is
    just beyond ridiculous.

  7. I inherited this setup (moved in with it already setup), so unfortunately I'm not 100% sure why its setup this way. The Linksys is connected to the Arris via ethernet. The funny thing is I just unplugged the Linksys router and the wifi I use is still up
    (for computer, xbox, etc), so I guess the Arris is acting as the modem as well as the Wifi router. Not sure what the purpose of the Linksys router was, but unplugging it doesn't seem to have changed anything as far as the wifi/internet is concerned. The
    Xbox wifi signal has always been 100% and no packet loss or connectivity issues (as far as it reports itself at least) so I don't think it had any interference or anything of that nature.

    Arris router's are the number one failure on this forum ....they just have a hard time with xbox live lately , I would try and put that arris in bridge and plug the Xbox one up to the main port with nothing else connected. ..

  9. Unfortunately I can't do that. My TV cables/lines are not the same as internet lines coming in, so the router is in a different room than the TV and cannot be relocated. What if I plugged the linksys back in directly to the Arris and used the wifi network
    from the Linksys vs the Arris? I believe that may have been how it was setup previously (the Linksys was running a separate wifi network) but will need to double check.

    Also, do you think this is the cause of my issues? I was under the impression it was more along the lines of bugs and issues with xbox, xbox live, and halo rather than internet connectivity issues. Previously with the same internet setup this was working
    (at least to a degree), and actual connectivity to the internet has been probably the only thing that hasn't been an issue.

  10. I think the bugs are Internet related somehow , you would still need to put the arris in bridge mode , which will turn off its wireless before you use the linksys...

I work from home via the internet and should be working right now, not trying to fix xboxes XBox rendered useless after 1.5hrs with support -- 0x80a40019 :) so I'm a little weary to start reconfiguring my network right now. I'm also still re-downloading Halo (33% currently). I'm crossing my
    fingers that after a whole system reset and reinstall that I will finally be able to actually use my xbox, but I'm not placing any bets on that.

    If it still doesn't work, I will switch up my network and try the Arris in bridge mode. Thank you for your help, please stay with me! You're much better than actual xbox support! I'll keep you posted tonight as I can try everything out a bit more.

  12. No problem , and if your cable is like mine there should only be one cable coming into your house for Internet and TV , then it splits , anywhere you have rg6 cable , you should have Internet on it ....if you do need to move it..

    Unfortunately I have DirectTV for TV and Xfinity/Comcast for internet. There is a line for each coming into the house into a panel where it splits the lines that then go off into each room. So I can only make a room have a DirectTV (TV) line or an Xfinity
    (Internet) line. So if a room as a DirectTV line, that line doesn't have internet, and visa versa for the Xfinity line not having TV. So where my TV is, I would have to switch that room to be split from an Xfinity line and then at that point I wouldn't have
    TV there anymore.

    Definitely not an ideal situation (I've always had your situation previously, TV and Internet from the same provider) but unfortunately I'm stuck with this setup until my girlfriend's DirectTV contract is up.

    would leave it be but run cat 5 (or 6 if you want to futire proof it) to the xbox no matter where its at , I hate wireless and always run cable when I make "house calls" , cat 5 cable is dirt cheap and comes in colors now ....also , I would ask you to
    check you isp's bill , they are probably charging you at least 10 bucks a month ($120 a year ) for that arris modem /router ...you would be FAR better off to get your own modem only and router only and would have a much more "xbox friendly" setup ....
