We understand that the controller buttons do not work correctly with remote play when streaming Xbox to a Windows PC. It appears that when you hold down a controller button it spams it instead of holding it down. When you're not streaming the button works as it should.



This issue may have been caused by settings either Windows or Xbox that need to be changed. So let us work together as a team to get to the bottom of this. But to better assist you I need to ask:



1) Are you using the Xbox Wireless Controller or something else?



2) Are you using a wireless connection on both the Xbox and the PC? Or are you using a wired connection on both?



3) When was the last time the buttons were working correctly while streaming Xbox to a PC? I need an exact date.

4) What version of Windows are you using on the PC? We specifically need the edition and version number of Windows your device is running. To find out which version of Windows your device is running, press the Windows logo key + R, type winver in the Open box, and then select OK. You'll get the window below and we need the information highlighted in red.





5) Are you getting all green checkmarks when visiting the following website on your Windows PC?

6) Our Troubleshoot remote play gaming guide generally considers this a networking issue. So can you please try the troubleshooting from the photos below. Please ignore the steps from the guide that are not in the photos.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're trying to connect to your Xbox through your Windows 11 PC. Are you trying to use the remote play feature of your console?

In order to enable remote play, you need to enable remote features from the settings of your console.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

Go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Remote features.

Select the Enable remote features checkbox.

In Xbox App Preferences, you need to select "Allow connections from any device" if you want to remove any authentication.

If these settings are already configured properly, here are the steps on how you could proceed with the remote play.

On a mobile device:

Open the Xbox mobile app.

Select the My Library icon and select Consoles.

Select the console you want to connect to and then press Remote play on this device.

On a Windows device:

Open the Xbox app for PC.

Click on your profile picture and select View profile.

Under Where I play, select the Add a console option and follow the steps shown.
