Xbox Remote Play does not work on the go! Please help!

Hi good evening. I am trying to use Xbox Remote Play when I’m on the go outside of my home, but unfortunately it does not work at all on both 5G service or on another wifi connection using a wireless Xbox controller. When I try it outside my home thru the Xbox app, it keeps giving an alert saying it has found my console but can’t connect to it for some reason. Remote play works fine at home on my internet, but not outside my wifi. I checked my setup on my Xbox, and they all have green check marks. My Xbox Series X is up to date, my Xbox app on my phone is updated, and I do have a stable wired internet for my Xbox. Please help! I really want to use this feature on the go like it’s supposed to be!

Why even have remote play then? Isn’t that kind of a terrible feature? If you need to be in the same location as your Xbox to get it to work, why not just play on your console? Shouldn’t the point of remote play to be able to play on the go when you’re away from your home?

We understand that you are trying to use the Xbox Remote play feature on your Xbox Console to play games. We think your Xbox console is set up properly. However, there is one thing you should be aware of when using Xbox Remote Play from an Xbox Console to a PC or phone: both devices need to be connected to the same network. In other words, your phone should be relatively close to the network that is connected to your console. While using a cellular connection for your phone is great, the Xbox Console on the other hand should also be connected to same cellular network.

We would like to recommend you use Xbox Cloud Gaming. This best suit your desire in playing Xbox Console games on a phone. Know more here:

Just got an xbox one for xmas and the remote does not work. Toys r us is going to give us a problem I just know it...... I don't need a new system, just a remote........ advice on how to handle this or is it something xbox - Microsoft can help with and just
avoid the store?

Huh? Remote Play is nothing to do with Xcloud or Game Pass. And if it won't work, then how can they get it working on their Android device? And they have an Xbox so that's not the issue.

They are trying to Remote Play their Series X games from their Series X console to their PC via the Remote Play feature and using the Xbox App. This should work without an issue, as it does with their Android device. There is nothing on the Remote Play page to suggest Game Pass is needed
