Xbox Refusing To Warranty Defective Controller!?!

I want to see if anyone else has had this issue/resolution before I go to some news sites with my letter. I have purchased an Xbox One controller back on December 16th strictly for PC gaming. 2 weeks later the USB port on the
controller broke. It has been confirmed no fault of my own. I have been trying to get it fixed ever since to no avail.

I was told by more than one rep that since I do not own a console anymore that Microsoft does not have to honor the warranty!!! When I finally did get someone to
help, they tried to send me to the employee only store in Redmond WA! To add insult to injury I am home-bound/disabled. I was then told that they can refund an old purchase on the Xbox 360 that I use to own, but it wouldn't do any good since I no longer have
that bank any more!

I tried to get it repaired online also, however since the serial numbers are 14 digits long and the console serials are 12 digits long it will not accept that. I have seen Xbox twitter and other posts on official places asking
to have this issue fixed. To make a long story short, I see that this has been an issue for some and that Microsoft has so far refused to fix the problem.

Does anyone have any advice before I take my final step in this by contacting an attorney and the news outlets? I REALLY do not want to do that, however Microsoft keeps getting away with this and will keep doing so until someone
says ENOUGH.

PLEASE! HELP! Give me an alternative!

P.S. I am taking a screenshot of this post so that if it is taken down or removed by someone other than me it can go to the news papers as well.

Pay to return defective controller?

Why do I have to pay to return a defective controller? I got a controller as part of an xbox one X bundle and the console/accessories are under warranty still. Why don't they do some type of RMA label where the shipping is paid for by Microsoft since they
sent a defective item?

 

Only one question where did you purchase the controller, if not direct from Microsoft then I would speak to store you bought it from.

 

I got it from Amazon, not a re-seller, from Amazon directly. Since it was longer than 30 days by the time I got through the 1st run-around I was unable to return it to them. Thank you for the suggestion though
