Xbox refusing to connect to one particular modem

My Xbox One S is refusing to connect to one particular modem. It will connect to others, however not this one. All other devices will connect to it, just not the One S.

Xbox won't connect to Live.

Tried getting on today and it won't connect. Everything is fine. Reset router and modem and that's all ok. My backup xbox in the bedroom will connect no worries but my main one (with all my saved games) is refusing to connect to live. What's going on?

I've tried connecting both wireless and wired but no luck.

Xbox One refusing to connect to network

I have the same issue. Brand new system that originally downloaded 6% of the required 907mb file but then stopped. I restarted and it then got to 7% before freezing, then 5%, 2% now it won't go past zero. Between 5% and 2% I did a full system shut down
(hold for 10 seconds) still nothing. So i got on to the Offline system update diagnostic tool OSUDT1 as per the directions of xbox support. Still nothing. I hold the bind and eject button, press the power and keep holding the other two and all that did was
go to the green logo screen before trying to do the whole setup again. I've unplugged and left it for 15 minutes before trying it again... I'm running out of ideas and patiences!

Hi there iamtech1,

Is this from an Xbox One or an Xbox 360 console? Do you have any manually configured settings on your model, particularly ones that would affect the ability of your router to broadcast it's SSID? I have heard of some issues with Arris model modems, though
I am not certain if your particular model of modem is known to cause issues. Are you able to connect your Xbox to your modem directly via Ethernet cable? If so, test that out and see if it works on a wired connection.

Hi there, I have tried taking the steps that are listed in the that particular thread. If I go through my router as well as my modem I am able to connect. But I would prefer to have a direct connection from my modem to my xbox and of course that is the part
that is not working.

It is a OvisLink ADSL Modem Model: OV303R2

Update - After setting my modem into Modem Only mode and instead using the wireless connection of a spare router lying around, it has connected to Xbox LIVE with zero problems.

This at least confirms that the Xbox itself is fine, now I have to try and work out why the good network refuses to co-operate.

Are you connected via a wireless connection? If so, it is quite possible that you are too far from your router/modem. To see if this is the case, I recommend moving closer to the router/modem (If possible) and attempting to connect there. If your Xbox
still refuses a sustainable connection, then it is a issue with the internal connection ability of your xbox (If using a slim or the New Xbox 360, if your using anything else, the external connection deivce) or an issue with your modem/router.
