You see the following error message when you try to redeem a gift card code on Xbox Live:

Can’t retrieve information from Xbox Live. Please try again later.

Status Code: 80122725

This means that the card was not activated at the retailer.

Solution

To resolve this issue, return the card to the retailer and ask them to activate it.

OK, problem solved. Everyone, who can't redeem your code, or activate any prepaid card, double check your xbox region settings - they should match the region your code is for.

When you buy a gift card from a retailer, the card becomes activated once they scan the card's bar code. If you're getting an error message that the code is not activated, you may just need to wait a few hours, up to 24 hours sometimes. If you haven't done
so, I recommend also trying to redeem the code online as well as from the console. If the code hasn't been activated, return it to the place where it was purchased and ask for them to activate it so it can be redeemed. Make sure to take your proof of purchase
with you.

I would like to clarify, do you have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate active when you redeemed these cards? Because the cards that you have redeemed may have been converted if you have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Also, may I ask what cards you redeemed? Is this an Xbox Live Gold subscription, Game Pass for Console, etc?
