Xbox Recording Audio

Okay, so this might not directly relate to my Xbox itself but more towards me recording my Xbox. I have an elgato HD60 and I have been trying to record my Xbox live party chat with it. I changed my settings to Headset and Speakers but the elgato picks up
everything in the party except me. I have no idea if the problem has to do with the elgato settings or the Xbox settings. I have looked all over the web for help and just can't find anything. I was wondering if anyone could help me solve this problem like
if there is anything in the settings that I need to change. PS: I play on a TV and hook the elgato up to a laptop; if that changes anything.

Audio bugs in new Xbox 1 April update.

Since this week's new Xbox 1 April 2018 update there are some major audio bugs when using Groove as background music during games. There are loud audio pops/clicking at random intervals. This also affects game recording audio. When
using Groove as background music, audio cuts out for a second at intervals during xbox DVR game recordings.

Since your actual voice isn't being re-broadcasted over the TV audio, the Elgato won't be picking that up (by default, at least).

Elgato states on their support website that in order to record your own voice,
you will need a separate microphone connected to your computer. In that support page, it links you to an article about how to do "live
commentary", which I think would be useful for you too.

Hi Mbathula,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your question. With recording your voice it will not do this through the game bar itself. You either have to do it through the Xbox companion app or have a capture card. As this guide for

setting up streaming windows 10 shows it will only record from the Microphone on the PC not the headset.

Recorded audio

Record game play with or without sounds from your game and your microphone, and choose the audio quality.

To record game sounds with your game clips, turn on Record audio when I record a game.
To choose a different audio quality than the default, select the Audio quality box and choose one of the options.
To record through your microphone, turn on Record audio when I record a game.

Hi There,

There is no way to separate audio between applications when recording, it is recording audio captured from your default audio device set on your computer, unless you could some how separate the applications to use different audio devices it would record
any audio broadcasting on your audio device.
