    Xbox PSU buzzing and grinding


    i noticed a buzzing noise coming from my power supply of my xbox today. When I unplugged it and plugged it back in, there is a a louder buzzing and grinding noise, plus, the only thing that shows up on the tv is a whole bunch of different colored lines.
    Is this fixable or am I going to have to get it repaired?

    Anything new on this topic?

    My PSU is buzzing as well, very annoying as everything else is silent as desired.

    Do I need to exchange the PSU?

    Power supply buzzing noise

    Mine is working not stop. Without ticking noises but at full RPM. It seems like PWM or voltage regulation is not working in some PSU. Even some fanless PSUs are buzzing and manufacturers fix it over time.

    2 NovacX:

    "the cooler will go faster, as the temperature is rising. the buzzing noise will be louder then"

    Unfortunately it's always constant from PSU side, whether you in instant-on or playin Forza. When playing Forza you can touch it and feel the heat. After 2 hours in instant-on it's the same.

    Hi xSTENGER34x

    I would first check the all cables (HDMI/Power Cable) are securely in place and that your console and power supply are well ventilated. If this is all checked then is does sound like a hardware failure within the console, so I would log a repair with Support

    Loud noise when game is inserted, silent when DVD is inserted.

    It is a similar sound to that of the fans in a computer. Not a grinding noise at all, I would say its a mix of humming and buzzing, but more hum.

    Is it normal for the xsx psu to make a buzz?

    The buzzing is little to none while idling on the home screen but ramps up when playing games on system itself other than that the fan is fine but the psu is abit noisy
