Xbox profile name

As Tezzarrific said, it sometimes takes 72 hours to show the changes, give it a while and Xbox Live will show its new Gamertag, sometimes the servers crash and it takes a while for the changes to appear. Cheers!

The 8830 that is part of the tag was added as a suffix and will show as part of the tag in some areas. So you do already own the tag you're wanting, you just have a suffix as well. In order to get rid of the suffix, you would have to change your tag to something else in order to free it up and once it is freed up, change it back. However, if anyone else uses the tag, you will still be given a suffix.

When you first create a GamerTag, I think MS assigns a random name to it, but you have an option to change it to something more personal, but only once. If you want to change again after that, there is a cost.

Hi there. The LIVE system does not allow more than one profile to share the same Windows Live ID, although glitches can happen. So, are you sure you're using the same credential information (email address and password) linked to your main profile to sign
into xbox.com? If so and you're still being logged into "Flushercurves" then what you will need to do is quite simple and change the Windows Live ID associated to this account. In order to do that follow the next set of steps:

1. Power on your xbox 360 but do not sign into any profile.
2. Select the option to recover an xbox LIVE profile and then type in the same credential information you use to sign into xbox.com
   
3. The profile "Flushercurves" should then start to download.
4. Once complete sign into the profile and navigate to the Account Management options.
   
5. From here you will need to change the Windows Live ID.
6. Once the Winodws Live ID is changed you can then reattempt to sign into xbox.com with your orignal profile details.
