xbox product enhancement on game discs

Hello I own a fair amount of game discs. I was wondering if there is a way for Microsoft to modify the Xbox in a future update to acknowledge ownership of a game disc and give users the ability to install and play the game without putting the disc in the
console each time the user wants to play a game (like with digital downloads).

I've always heard that prolonged use can damage discs or scratch them. I understand that there has to be some kind of validation so one person doesn't share a disc with several people to install, so could it randomly ask for the disc every so many times(10-20
plays) so disc users can play without the disc present most of the time if they choose to?

The enhancements are going out in an update for the game. (today actually) You don't have to have the Game Pass to get the enhancements.

Discs function mainly as "portable" licenses to authorize play of game installations. If you want to play the game without putting in a disc, consider reselling your physical game and buying the digital version on the Xbox store.

I believe a similar idea to this was initially planned at the launch of the Xbox One back in 2013, but it fell out of favor due to massive backlash by the community, since it would make the used/rental games market impossible (among many other things).

HI,

This an Xbox One X enhanced game. But to get the enhancement you'll need either a Xbox One X or either one of the newer Series X|S machines. The Series S is a digital only console though.

On an original Xbox One or One S, it will be the BC 360 game with no enhanced graphics.

You'll get access to an enhanced version regardless of disc or digital, but you need the right console to be able play the enhanced version.

The game is on 2 discs. The enhanced edition actually comes with 3 discs; 2 for the game and 1 for the soundtrack.

At some point in the game you will have to switch discs.

This is an incorrect assumption. You can insert an xbox one disc and download updates that may improve visuals and frame rates on Xbox Series X/S but in order to play you still need the disc unless you own the digital version of it.

Xbox Series X will utilize the Xbox One X version of enhancements while Xbox series S will use the Xbox One S enhancements.

You will not get a free game by borrowing or renting a physical version of a game and installing it on Xbox Series X/S.

Hey there!

As long as you have the most recent updates for the game installed on your console, you should have the ability to use Xbox One X Enhanced graphics, even with a disc copy of the game.

For titles that are not Enhanced, they will still receive a slight boost from your system from uprendering, etc.
