Xbox pro controller disconnects constantly while plugged in to usb

while plugged in to xbox one to charge my pro controller randomly disconnects. The Led lights on the controller continue to stay lit showing the controller is connected and charging but the xbox thinks o controller is connected when this occurs. Unplugging the controller and plugging it back in temporarily fixes the issue but it will disconnect again not too long after. This problem started after the firmware update was pushed out this last week, have other Elite Pro users complained having a similar issue or is the timing just coincidence? Seems to be unlikely to be a hardware issue with the LED lights not agreeing with the xbox os prognosis

I will attempt to rollback once I get back home. Xbox said my controller NEEDS a firmware update so I thought it might be required like the monthly os updated. Will try the rollback first then swap USB cables if that fails just rule that out and report back what I find. Thanks much

Hi, give that a try.
If maybe the Xbox doesn't let you downgrade the firmware.
Try using the method 2 from this article

Or this other option:
Connect the controller via USB then open Xbox Accessories App
Once there press Windows key + R and paste the next command in the box:

xboxaccessories:\\firmwareupdate?legacyDowngrade=true

Hit Enter and now Xbox Accessories App will prompt a message and the firmware downgrade process is going to start

Exists the possibility that the latest firmware is causing this problem.
May I know if you tried downgrading the controller firmware to see if that does the trick?

Hello,

Yes, the USB cable while plugged into the Xbox One controller will force the data to and from the controller to the console over USB, thus making it a wired controller.

This is also evident when unplugging and plugging in the USB, the controller disconnects for a brief period to resync.

Same issue here. Only works while plugged in, it will not charge or power on the controller if usb cable is disconnect!!!! Fix!
