Xbox Preview Update stuck - Windows 10 update?

Tried to hard reset/restart multiple times now and waited for hours and hours, tried going through xbox support but they couldn't help. Apparently i don't have access to the Early Access forums either.

Xbox gets to Applying stage then just over half way it gets stuck. It also does a weird little black screen restart before it gets to that stuck point and loses a bit of the applying update bar before it builds back up and gets stuck.

I have the same problem, been trying for 2 hours now, reboots not working and I unplugged my external drive too. This is not funny now....

 

I've been told i somehow opted out of the preview program and this might be causing the issues. The only way we think that could have happened was when you had to opt out of the older preview program to get the newer one for windows 10. Either way it's still
trying to apply update and have reset multiple times now. Xbox support couldn't help me and i have no access to contact with the preview program support team, which is ridiculous.

 

I'm also getting stuck at a black screen after the update. Twice now I hard rebooted after I let it sit at the black screen for nearly 20 mins. Now my xbox is stuck offline because it needs to update. Can't even check registration status on the preview
dashboard or opt-out because I need to be signed in. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because this thing is utterly useless without xbox live...

Step 1: plug your Xbox in via Ethernet cable and turn your console on. It should start automatically updating as usual.

Step 2: Hard power down the console (hold power on console for 5-8 seconds)

Step 3: Unplug your Ethernet cable and turn the console back on. This should trick the system into thinking all it has left to do is apply the update Hence: "Applying update" across the screen. It should "complete" its imaginary application of the update.

Step 4: Once your system has said "Hi ----!" It should put you at the dashboard in offline mode. From there press the start button and go to settings

Step 5: Go to "console settings" and FACTORY REBOOT the Xbox.

Step 6: wait and go through all the settings in offline including its factory updates and such until it asks what network you are in

Step 7: Plug the Ethernet Cable back in.

Step 8: it should opt you for your console update. Accept it!

Step 9: Complete your update and enjoy your new Dash! Just redownload all your stuff. It's not that bad.

Onyx that would be helpful if it would let me have access to that.. which i have already stated i don't have.

 

J Converse, It is impossible to plug in an Ethernet cable for us.

 

Factory restore fixed it...

 

I completed the update but I think it broke my network adapter. When I try to test network connection it says "There's a hardware problem" and that it needs repair. Is it just me? or has it happened to anyone else?

 

I think those of us getting bricked, is because we recieved the update early by accident. I was still pending when it popped up so was a friend of mine. He got lucky but my console is frozen. I'll try the suggestion but ima be highly upset if i cant use
my system tomorrow
