XBOX Preview - Dashboard App - Unable to install

Good afternoon,

I was just chatting with Xbox support (Geoff B.), and was told to post my issue here to see if I can get some assistance.

I no longer have access to the message that I would use to access the "Preview Dashboard" app. I apparently have accepted the terms and conditions and registered for the program, but the message that I would have been sent to download the app is not in
my message center.

Is there any way I can get that resent to me? Or, is there another avenue I can pursue to download the preview app? I appreciate any assistance that can be provided.

Unable to access Preview Program forums

My Xbox One recently was updated with the New Xbox One Experience dashboard as part of the preview and I have since lost access to the Xbox Preview Dashboard app as it says "This app is for the Xbox Preview Program members only." I am also unable to access
the preview program forums on the Xbox website as it reports back "Group not found".

All you need to do is download the Xbox Preview Dashboard app from your waiting to install list and select the option of registration once you open the app.

 

I've copied a segment of the chat, if that is helpful at all. In it, I am told that I have access to the beta, have gotten the message containing the app, but it has since disappeared.

If this is inaccurate, please let me know! Again, thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Geoff B: Alright, now scroll all the way over to the right to where you will see the content that isn't installed.

[]: I don't see anything under "apps". I'm checking "Games" now, and am not finding anything there either.

[]: Nothing for the preview dashboard, anyway.

Geoff B: Interesting. Can you get into your messages for me ?

Geoff B: Alright, do you by any chance have the message regarding the beta in there ?

Geoff B: Did you delete the message after viewing it ?

[]: Not that I recall. I only have messages going back to 8/4, and there doesn't appear to be that many.

[]: I usually don't delete messages at all.

Geoff B: Alright, let's try something. Can you sign in on the Xbox website and go to your messages for me ?

[]: Sure thing.

Geoff B: That's bizarre! I'm going to double check on this. Give me just a moment, please.

Geoff B: Ok, so it looks like if you got the message but it has disappeared we need to get you into the forum for the beta to request a secondary message to be sent. Let me find the link for that forum for you.

Hey mate,

Yeah, messages expire after 30days I beleive, so it will most likely be gone if its passed that time.

One of the support crew should jump in and be able to resend the message for you however So keep an eye out for a PM from them They should also be able to add you to the preview program forums

Thanks for the reply man! I'm an idiot for forgetting about the whole thing to begin with. I'm not holding out a ton of hope, but I'm crossing my fingers!

 

All good mate I would keep hope, I'm pretty sure they have a way of finding old messages The support crew have some magical tricks, so hopefully this will be one of them!

You should now have access to the Preview Forum. When you get a chance, go ahead and make a post there so that the proper folks can address the issue. Thanks!
