To clip something in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 without opening the Xbox guide, you can use the in-game theater mode to capture and save clips of your gameplay. Here's how to do it:

While in a game, press the start button to open the in-game menu.

Go to the Theater tab and select the film you want to capture a clip from.

Use the playback controls to find the moment you want to clip.

Once you've found the moment, press the X button to start recording the clip.

Press the X button again to stop recording.

Your clip will be saved to your Xbox's Game DVR, which you can access later from the Xbox guide. Note that you may need to adjust your Game DVR settings to make sure that your clips are saved in the highest quality possible.

There used to be an app called Upload Studio which has just been removed from the App Store. To trim your videos from your Xbox follow these steps.

1. First capture your gameplay by pressing your xbox button followed by X.

2. After a short while your clip will have saved to your recent captures.

3. To see these captures press your xbox button again and move to Capture & Share.

4. Go to recent captures and press A, then choose which clip you want to trim and edit.

5. An option should now appear near bottom of list saying Trim.

6. It may take several moments to load in your clip.

7. Move your left analogue to trim your clip from.the start and your right to trim it from the end.

8. When finished press A to preview clip or X to save.

When on the Xbox One home screen press the menu button and go to settings, then preferences, and uncheck where it says "record clips with game DVR." Saved clips can be found and deleted in the Upload app, not Upload Studio though. Highlight clips in the
"saved clips" section, press the menu button, then choose delete.

Keep in mind that captured clips expire in 30 days when you don't load them to live. Make sure to load them to avoid this issue
