Xbox Power up button Is on but console is off.

Hello, I read another post by "colbert38" He pretty much summed up a part of my problem with my console.

"Xbox One Original lights up and makes noise but won't turn on

I have had my xbox one since the year it came out. Recently, it began freezing in the middle of games and refusing to turn back on after hard restarting it. It wasn't the games that froze, but the xbox interface itself. For a couple of weeks, if I left it off for long enough, it would turn on and play fine for a few hours before repeating the aforementioned behavior. Last week, however, after freezing during one of my games, I left it off for over 24 hours but it would still not start up. When I turn it on, it makes the startup noise and the light turns on, and I can hear the xbox fan running. However, nothing shows up on the display and after turning the xbox on initially, the controller will disconnect and begin blinking as if it cannot recognize my xbox. Also, the xbox will stay running for however long it is allowed, but will not shut off without a hard restart. Pressing the console button simply plays the turnoff sound but does nothing. This is not a display issue, as I have been through all of those threads and tried everything, such as changing ports and cables. My laptop connects to my display fine with the same port and cable, so it cannot be that. Additionally, I have been through the battery supply threads and know this is also not the problem, as the power brick lights up solid white when the xbox is turned on, and I have tried alternative bricks with no success. I would not be posting this question if I did not think my situation was unique, as I have been unable to find anything online in the past couple weeks that could shed some light on how to resolve my problem. As a member of the Microsoft community for over ten years with my initial purchase of the xbox one long ago, I hope that I can find some assistance in resolving the overly frustrating issues I am experiencing. Thank you"The bolded parts are the problem he is having, and the problem I am also having. When Corona Started my Xbox one X Broke. or did what the other user put in his Question, My Xbox is not the originally one like his. Though I am having sort of the same problem. Since the Start of Corona I have tried to turn on my xbox due my best to get it to work use forums- look at the xbox help Guides etc.

(My Problem) So My xbox will turn on. Or the power up light at least. but the console wont turn on just the light. The Pair Button does make a "Ping" noise of some sorts when pressed. I have noticed from my trials and Errors, One of the ports on the back of the console (Ethernet Port) Glows red when the Console is turned on. While my port light is not on but the power up button is on. I have deducted that when that Port will turn on and glow red. while if the console is off it will not glow red and will not turn on due to the fact the console is off. The console won't turn off with the pressing of the power button, You have to Hard reset the console or unplugging it completely to turn off the console.

When the console is turned on and the power light turns on but the console doesn't, The console will sit in this "Idle" state where it wont do anything except for just being there. the light will be on but nothing more. After a while 2 things will either happen 1. Console will make the Powering off Sound and turn off. or 2. The Ethernet (Port) will glow red and the console will start up the display screen, at this point it will bring you to the System Error msg menu. I have gotten the E101, 2, and 6 Msgs. I did a factory reset. (did nothing to fix it) I tried to restart my Console, (did nothing to fix it) OSU1 (Offline system update or Usb offline update/ Did not work at all) I have taken in my xbox to get it repaired 3 times. They could not seem to find the problem with the console. at first we thought it was the Hard drive. we got that replaced and it did work for around 3-5 days till it started to crash during games, "Dashboard took to long to start" even the signing in took too long to start. and eventually it kicked me out to the System Error Menu and since then I have not been able to reach the Dashboard or anything else other than that menu. I've tried all of the troubleshooting steps.

    Please help T^T

    :)

Oh, no worries. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in. Press and hold the SYNC button and then press the Xbox button on the console. Continue holding the SYNC button for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the SYNC button after the second power-up tone. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

I think a console reset is needed:

    1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    2. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
    3. Press and hold the BIND button (located below the Xbox button on the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console),
and then press the Xbox button on the console.
    4. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
    5. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
    6. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.
    7. Select Reset this Xbox
    8. Select Reset this Xbox and Keep Games and Apps

Hi, with the Xbox one powered up press and hold the xbox button on the xbox one for 10 seconds, the unit will power off. Then power up again using the xbox button on the xbox one and try the game again. If that doesn't work then try the same process again
but remove the power cable from the console for 30 seconds once the console has powered off.
