    Xbox Power Supply Unit Replacement (110v - US to 220v - India compatible)


    I brought XBOX360E from US on 22nd June 2014 when I was on visit to US. I came back to India. And I had a chat on 29 June 2014 with Microsoft Xbox support team and representative told me that the PowerSupplyUnit (PSU) will be replaced free of cost to India
    compatible PSU and only shipping charges would apply. He gave a India support number as Toll free: 000-800-440-1179. When I called on 30 June 2014 on this number, representative told me that PSU will cost me Indian Rupee 4179. When I checked on Internet with
    old users, they also says, microsoft replaces the PSU free of cost with India compatible PSU. Since last few hours, I'm trying Microsoft Support for xbox but nobody is able to tell me why there are charges to replace PSU from 110v to 220v. I was not expecting
    such scenario from Microsoft product. Its disappointing. I hope there would be solution to this..

    Xbox one PSU adapter replacement

    Hi,

    I am looking to purchase or exchange for Xbox one Power Supply Unit 110V-240V or 220V-240V. Does Microsoft India offer original power supply unit? Or where can I buy the original one?

    110V to 220V adapter replacement

    Hi,

    I have recently moved from US to India. I carried my XBox from US to India.

    The power adapter that came with the console works on 110V AC, and in India the power supply is 220V AC.

    I want to replace my 110V adapter to a 220V one.

    Please help.

    Sorry to hear it. Do you have the reference number from the original call so the support people in India can see the details of it? If so, you should give it to them.

    You could also try replacing the accessory from the repair page by selecting Replace an Accessory to see if you still get charged.

    Because you bought you console in the US it's warranty resides in the US, so that means if you wanted a replacement power supply for free you would need to get it shipped to the US for it to be free. But because you are looking to get it shipped to India
    to have no warranty in India so you would need to pay to get it replaced, sorry but the support agent was correct.

    Hi,

    The power supply that's going to ship with the console is not known yet. Your better off waiting to see what sort of power supply you end up with. If you end up with a 110v power supply with the US console then you'd need to purchase a 220v power supply from
    your own country. Since the Xbox One isn't launching in India right away I'm not quite sure how you'd be able to acquire one.

    It's never a good thing to use a step up converted to use a 110v device in a 220v country as this can cause it to short out, if that does happen you'll be in for one expensive replacement due to the cost of shipping an item from the United States to India it
    won't be cheap. I'd really hold out to see what your options are as they release more information on all of that.

    Hi

    Xbox One consoles purchased in europe come supplied with a 220-240v power supply and North America uses the 110v system so if you replace the power supply for your console it should then work.

    If you do not want to replace the power supply then the new Xbox One S console supports both 110v and 220v.
