Xbox Power Problems

It randomly happened today out of the blue. I started to play Fallout 4 and it told me it took to long to start, so I put the disk in and it suddenly froze my home screen. I did a hard reset too. I will turn it on, and it will turn the symbol and power
supply lights white, but most of the time, it will shut off about 10 seconds later. When it does boot up, the Xbox screen lags, and if I try to hit start on anything in my home menu, it freezes and I can't access any applications.

Thanks. Is there anyway i can fix the power supply or do i have to trade it in for a new one?

yes i am using the same plug and no it doesn't have a surge protector... I think that may be the problem. But i have my TV plugged into the same outlet and it has not shorted or anything.

have you used the same wall plug for your console?

To blow 2 power supplies in one month is not good at all!!!

You could be getting power surges and its blowing your power block.

Are you using a surge plug as that would be a good start.

Is the xbox power supply in a well ventilated place?

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with our XBOX. Depending on the model that you have could possibly determine the situation. You can try the hard reset as the previous Ambassador spoke of and see it that helps. If it's an older XBOX that has a
power brick be sure that the light is green so you know it's powering your XBOX properly, could be it's a bad power supply. But far to often when you hear a lot of beeping before it shuts down, could also be the hard drive is failing. The console does a spin
up of the drive when you power it on and if the drive fails a checklist, the console will power down to protect he console and the drive could possibly need to be replaced by an authorized repair center. But definitely check with https://beta.support.xbox.com/ and
see they could help as well!

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue.

Try performing the hard reset exactly like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 30 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
