    Xbox Power Button Malfunction?


    Okay, so I was playing BF4 one day when my Xbox One (500gb) just randomly shut off. I turned it back on, but shortly after, like between 5-10 seconds after the start-up screen appeared and it would immediately shut back off. It's done this a few times,
    including today, while trying to play the Chief Collection. Another problem I face during this is that sometimes the power button doesn't respond, or I'll hear the start-up chime without touching anything. It also didn't start during that. I don't know what
    to do.

    Why does my Power Brick stay on?

    yea its because the xbox is never truly off.

    On a pc, you have the system power button and the power supply power button. You can turn the computer off and on with the power button, but the system is still juiced unless you turn off the switch in the back, with the power supply button

    Same goes for the xbox except the power supply (brick) doesnt have a button

    XBOX TURN ON BY IT SELF.

    Is it an original Xbox One or the newer S model? The power button on the original is very sensitive. Try powering it completely off (hold power button for 5 seconds or so).

    I uninstalled a game and it still shows, as my active status. It won't give away!

    It is basically a reebot that can solve malfunctions

    Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button  on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
    Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
    Plug the console power cable back in.
    Press the Xbox button  on your console to turn it on.

    The power brick light is green when it's running, also lately the Xbox seems to take quite a long time to turn off completely, most of the time double tapping the power button pad thing it'll turn off immediately, I'm wondering if it doing this is a symptom
    (for lack of a better word) of the malfunction.

    When turning console off the power on button pulsates for quite some time after - why is this, and is this a problem?

    The console is performing a background download, if this function has been enabled your consoles power button will show a green pulsing light after you turn off. Don't worry, this is not malfunction.

    If your on screen keyboard has malfunctioned it can normally be remedied by restarting the console.

    1. Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your Xbox One controller to open the Power Center.
    2. Select Restart console.
    3. Select Restart.
