    Xbox Power Brick


    So for the second time in less than two months I've had my xbox power brick stop working. The first one took a beating during a move and one day it stopped working. When I unplugged and plugged it back in, I heard a strange popping noise so I took it off
    my xbox and ordered a new one from Microsoft since I didn't want some cheap knock off that would break. My xbox is the only device plugged into the power outlet, and yet again the replacement I got from Microsoft doesn't work anymore. The light is just off,
    and I've tried unplugging it for about a minute and then plugging it back in and still nothing. Am I missing a trouble shooting step or did I just get *** with this power brick? I was really looking forward to the Battlefield 1 beta but if this is the kind
    of quality product I can expect now I don't see why I should remain a Microsoft customer. If anyone has any help please let me know

    Can I use an Xbox 360 slim power brick on an Xbox One

    So I have not upgraded to an Xbox One yet, but I found one on Ebay for 218 dollars. The reason it is so cheap is because it comes without a controller and the power brick. I can buy a controller no problem, but that leaves the power brick. From what I have seen online, the power brick for the Xbox One has similar jacks to the one on my Xbox 360 slim. I checked online to see if the power brick would work with the One, but I found no information on it. Do any of you happen to know if it works?

    You should get an electrician to take a look at the outlet. Sounds like it's surging and frying the psu.

    Always make sure that your plugging the xbox power cable directly into the wall and your not going over the maximum voltage allowed for the Xbox. For example, you can't plug a US power cord into a UK outlet through an adaptor due to the voltage being different
    in the regions.

    Are you sure that it's your Xbox and not a broken power brick? If you have a friend with the same power brick, try his!

    If your xbox works, you'll know that it's the power brick.

    The reason your Power Brick is making a humming noise, is because inside of the power brick. Is a little fan, this fan keeps your Power Brick at the correct temperature. If your power brick gets hot, the fans RPM will increase and it will make a humming
    sound because your XBOX Power Brick Fan is cooling down your Power Brick. Nothing to worry about unless it's a roaring sound.

    do you have a friend with the same model xbox so you can try their power brick and also your power brick on their xbox? so try and see if its the power brick or console itself with the issue?

    Xbox One won't switch on.

    You can try to reset the power brick by disconnecting it for 10 seconds and reconnecting it.

    If you still have an amber light on the Xbox power brick, it means that the power brick has to be changed.

    In this case, you will need to approach the Xbox support to request a change of the power brick.

    Try clear cache in your Xbox.

    1. Press and hold the power button on the front of the Xbox until it turns off completely.
    2. Unplug the power brick from the back of the Xbox. ...
    3. Plug in the power brick.
    4. Wait for the light on the power brick to change from white to orange.
    5. Turn the Xbox back on as you would normally.
