Xbox portable console

Didnt someone on the net make their 360 into a laptop for portable use?

Now its not really for me but i thought that was kinda cool

People on these forums insinuate and make assumptions all of the time, SMG. You're telling me you couldn't do the same to figure out by my last response that I have no interest whatsoever in portable gaming? Come on, you're smarter than that - you & I both
know it. Just in case you didn't, you have your answer in this post. Also, forgive me, I wasn't paying attention to who the OP was; I didn't realize it was you... Oops.

 

Remote play on Wiiu & Vita/PS4 is amazing. This would be a great addition to xbox. They have lots of franchises that could have great handheld spin-offs - halo,gears, forza.

 

I went all digital... so I already have an XB to go.. all I need is a console.... and when external is ready.. will be even faster..

@dynamic sausage yes you do have interest in handheld gaming if your playing pokemon on the Ds but hey what very helps you disagree.

OP did you start this thread to just bully anyone who posts anything contrary to your PoV? Wait in your OP you said only post if you agree... well don't I feel dumb.

 

I would buy one if they did release it. The Vita idea is the only next gen idea coming from the PS4 this time around and I would welcome Microsoft copying it. I do have my pc but when the other half is watching the main tv it would be handy.

I do have a Windows phone though that kind of doubles as the same but it does have a small screen, eats battery power when playing and gets warm!

 

Playing one particular handheld game and having a general interest in handheld gaming are 2 different things. If the options were there for console, I'll always take them.

 

I've got the PSP and PS Vita and I love them.. I dont use them 24/7 but When I do I really enjoy myself, so I would probably considder it if MS where to og into handheld gaming..

But it's a very differcult market to brake into I'm not shure that MS thinks it is a worthwhile market.. I'm not saying that they haven't got the resourses to do it but I just cant see the them getting into it at this point..

 

Another reason I can't see this working... Nintendo have absolutely dominated the handheld market and have done since Game Boy. Yeah the PSP was great when it first launched but all of that has settled down now, not to say it's a bad console but it certainly
doesn't have the sales or support that the 3DS has and our home consoles have.

Sure you could try and push things like an internet browser and app support which would have blown our minds in 2005 but this is the day of the smartphone which is pocket size, has all those things, everybody has one and a lot of people are using them for
gaming anyway.

Although it would be interesting to see Microsoft's take on the handheld market, I don't personally see it as a market that they can justifiably break in to. When you take a step back and look at competition, developer support and the monumental costs of
kicking the whole project off it just doesn't add up.

 

@dynamic see that last response of yours is perfect and i welcome all responses like that i guess . But yea to add on to what yoh said i think the ps vita is heading in a great direction i understand the whole psp thing and i agree but with "playstation
now" on its way and the cross play owning a ps vita woll be interesting.

what i meant to say about if you don't agree don't reply is if you have rude things to say i rather you keep it to yourself. I didnt mean to offend anyone i just prefer to discuss the good things about having a portable console the bad things would be a
completely different discussion. But seeing as it is already going both ways here i dont mind.

@mellor yes i would also welcome microsoft copying that i feel i would love a handheld from microsoft. Specially with the directx support they can offer it it would be interesting

MS is totally missing an opportunity. They should shrink the Xbox360 down to a portable form factor and let that be their mobile console. Then re-brand 360 games for digital distribution, put it up on the Xbox store, and boom, instant player in the handheld
market!

Xbox One becomes their main platform, and X360 (rebranded Xbox Portable) becomes the mobile platform.

Why they don't figure this out is beyond me!
