Xbox Play Anywhere

Xbox 1 has this feature. Question about it, I have a powerful PC. If I downloaded Recore and other games from the Xbox 1 store on my console, if I play it on my desktop PC which has Windows 10 and I installed the Xbox app (same for my laptop), do games have
settings which lets me change the games visually to ultra or higher settings? And I could play this on my laptop without having my console powered on right? I checked out Steam store I live in NZ, and Recore isn't showing up on Steam.

They can access the games on your console because you have it set as your Home console which allows that, but there is no equivalent on the PC. So you'd have to be signed into your account in order to play it on the PC.

I have an xbox (gold) live account for xbox one console. I also have two child accounts under my account. I recently purchased digital copies of Recore and Forza Horizon 3 play anywhere titles through the store on xbox one. I also have windows 10 laptop
with recent updates. The games work great when I log into Windows 10 and xbox app however when my kids try to log into the games under their own login both for Windows and xbox app the games are not available for them to download and play. Both kids can
play both games on the xbox one console but not on windows 10. Any ideas?

 

the cross play games will appear in the microsoft store on windows 10 i believe. they will be the PC version so you should have the options of changing the settings like any other PC game. anybody correct me if i'm wrong as this is a new feature which
i may take advantage of with forza

Hi peeps just read my signature. Genchy and some others were on about it so I thought id amuse readers.

 

Speaking as someone who owns the game I can say that any Xbox One Play Anywhere title will play on PC without the Xbox One being on. Your saves are in the cloud and when you boot up the game on PC or Xbox One you are able to pick up right where you left
off. I have been playing Killer Instinct like this for the last two months and have been doing the same with Recore.

 

Just be aware that you need the Win 10 Anniversary edition of the OS to enable Play Anywhere. It took me about 3 hours to download and "upgrade" the earlier version of Win 10 on my PC yesterday to enable the download button in the Windows store so I could
get the PC copy I was entitled to.

 

Play Anywhere is one of my favorite features to come in a while. I just wish they could get all games working this way instead. Make it a platform thing. Games can work on any Xbox enabled device. That would be cool. Really looking forward to this with
Gears 4. Going to be nice having access to that game on both my console and PC with Xbox. Same if the wife wants FH 3.

It is cool that the PC adds PC type settings to improve upon things. Would be real nice if MS could get the MP working. I understand the keyboard/mouse vs controller. I am fine with that really since I do extremely well on PC shooters with a controller.
Actually better than on consoles. But MS could make it so that to do cross play you must have a controller detected and use that. Or you just play PC vs PC.

I do like the build smilekybird. I have an i7 that is 8 core and 16 thread in mine but not sure the number. 32 gb ram. I just put 2 480s in it crossfire since I will be using the 16 gb ram on those for some personal stuff. It amazes me how awesome those
are. These games should play amazingly on that. Would love to here from you on how the games run on your rig.

 

@Guerrero That would be awesome but I think the whole Steam licensing thing holds that up as they are competing services. I was talking about this with a guy I work with the other day.

 

What about the Steam licensing? I have honestly not looked much into it. Is there something that Steam does that would stop that from happening? I guess Steam could have some clause that prevents it. If so, not a fan of that myself. Not a fan when any
company does that. Just make a great platform and sell it. I understand that doing things to block the competition is good business. I just like having the options.
