Xbox play anywhere signing into wrong account?

This is a pretty late response but for anyone else Googling the issue, change who is signed in on the xbox app on your computer.

So I'm assuming this is a play anywhere game.

You can not play a play anywhere game on both PC and Xbox at the same time, on the same account.

What you need to do is set the Xbox One console you want to be able to play the game as the account's (that owns the game, unless you have a disc copy) home Xbox, then sign into the game on the Xbox with a different account, then you can sign in on PC with
the account that has the digital rights to the game and then you will be able to play on PC and Xbox One simultaneously.

If the games are Play Anywhere, you can sign into the Microsoft Store with the same account and redownload them on the PC. https://www.xbox.com/games/xbox-play-anywhere Otherwise,
you would have to purchase them on the PC.

If you have Window 10 on your PC you can sign into your Xbox Live account and play playable "Play Anywhere" Xbox title games. Here a list of those title https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-play-anywhere.

No that just means it is available on pc too and cloud

Play anywhere requires the play anywhere tag

And you are forgetting the other factor

There is a reason why you can access it on pc and it's not what you think

If it was an play anywhere title anyone on your pc would be able to access it

As per the conditions of outer wilds that isn't the case

You MUST be signed into your pc to play it

Basically it's only linked to your account as long as you are signed into your xbox account in the xbox app or ms store account on Windows 11
