But again they're not trying to persuade anyone, you have to buy the Xbox One copy to get the PC version. They did that with Quantum Break and I ended up selling the PC version so really I didn't pay that much for the Xbox version, so I'm more than happy
if they keep doing this.

I wasn't gonna bring up the fact I'd probably be getting most if not all my Xbox games free because of all my console friends not using their PC version of the game. When Quantum Break came out I had so many friends asking
me if I wanted the code for the PC version I found it annoying, but now I can see lots of free games in my future. lol

 

Well you could have accepted all those codes and sold them on Ebay

 

I still don't see how this would be a problem though Mogwai. It won't have much of an effect on console sales. These games will need high end PC's to run them, its not like they'll work on any computer.

Some of us already own the same games on several systems. And not all games will be 'Play Anywhere', it will only be the Microsoft published titles and any other publishers that join in. Most PC games will still be on Steam, Origin, Ubi-Soft. This program
isn't going to kill the Xbox One.

I actually agree. The Xbox One S and the Xbox Scorpio killed the Xbox One.

 

They are not doing the quantum break code thing anymore. That was a temporary measure. You will buy a game with your live account and when you sign in on a win 10 PC with your love account you will have access to that version. So no you won't be selling
codes and playing for free.

This is the main point that cannot be debated. I'm not getting a "lap board" or going to use a Controller against keyboard and mouse in Batllefield or Titanfall.

I actually have 4 PC's at the moment. I don't think I'll have any problems running Xbox games on them and if I did, I would just buy another PC. That's what I do. If I want it... I get it.

I'm just really starting to think consoles are a waste of money. I expect the Scorpio to be behind in power when it finally comes out anyways.


My main point on this thread is I no longer really need to keep messing with a console when I can get so much more from a PC. It's just my opinion. Just call me kwazy. lol

 

I have both a PC and XBox. So i think I'm qualified to explain why after 10+ years of owning/building PC's I bought an XBox and how it's so great. And why *both* are essential for me. But you're not me. so ..

If you feel like you should buy a PC, then you probably should. It's that simple. Seriously. PC is a superior gaming platform to console. Both consoles have completely missed the current TV generation technology milestone - 1920x1080x144Hz(opt.3d) - PS4
was closer to the mark, as the XBoxOne is just *broken*, it can't even hit 1920x1080x60Hz a lot of times where PS4 is capable of doing so. Console is only just now getting mouse+keyboard after hour many years of having fps games. It's just laughable.

But a console has it's place. It's a much more convenient computer to have in your living room. Trust me, PC's tethered to the TV have some issues. It's just not a great experience especially if you have to move it around. Occasionally i'll plug my laptop
in and game, but usually i don't bother, I'll just play something on my PC in the office.

Consoles replace your set-top box + tvtuner + dvdplayer + smart TV and offer a one stop shop for all your living room digital needs, it's the first time i've had a cohesive experience in the living room for games and media. PC can't provide that in the same
way.

Regarding exclusives .. yes, you can play xbox exclusives on PC, but so what ... PC gamers have always had 10x more choice, superior performance, more peripherals, and more customization. To a PC gamer .. the fact that consoles have exclusives .. well we
don't really care. Sorry console owners but it's the truth. So exclusives as a concept is just a marketing tool, it means very little in the real world. Now we will will get PC+XBox exclusive. For me that's great. Not because I care about exclusives but because
I can buy a title and play it either in my PC room or in the living room with shared saveds. In fact, my view of things, with shared exclusives, I now have even greater reason to own an xbox + pc because it's even more of a shared ecosystem. That's really
great.

And perhaps more importantly, we will eventually be able to play games with people on console while on pc. So it slow the division of communities as people move from one platform to the other for different games.

Since I've bought the XBox I've actually spent much more time in the living room. Nearly all of my Youtube viewing has moved to the living room and i prefer it. I've played games in the living room which is something I've wanted to do for a while. And it
was just never easy hooking up the pc. One day PC's will see network devices (TV) as video output devices and allow networked peripherals so that we can sit in the living room and play games from the PC, but we're not there yet. Even then, the UI experience
needs to be updated to allow Windows to run XBox interface.

Sorry, you are incorrect. The Sapphire Nitro AMD Radeon R9 390 is not mediocore. It is officially HIGH END. Just google it. Notebookcheck says the GTX 970 is high end, but GPUBoss says the R9 390 is better than the GTX 970. The R9 390 has a high bandwidth
of 384GB/s. Sure it's not the best GPU, but it still is considered high end. My GPU is the Sapphire version which has the overclocked version of the R9 390. Also if you visit Intel's website go to 6th gen i7 processors ARK under 6700k page, there is a link
to Product Brief. It clearly states the 6700k is Intel's flagship processor. So it is not obsolete.

 

Even notebookcheck says the R9 390X is high end. I guess you'll disagree with that. When many recent sources on the net if you google it, refer to the R9 390 as a high end (but not best) GPU. It will likely remain part of like the High End family likely
for the rest of this year. The R9 390 has a higher bandwidth (384GB/s) than the GTX 970 AND GTX 980 (224GB/s) (and the R9 390 a bigger bus too (512-bit bus). it is better than the GTX 970, because with the 970, only 3.5GB out of the 4GB of memory is fast.
The last 0.5GB is slow memory. If you want info on my desktop GPU, visit Sapphire's website search for Sapphire Nitro R9 390 with back plate. The R9 390 can also play The Sims 4 on Ultra everything settings in 1920x1080p @ 60fps. That is high end material
there. My desktop can also play hardware demanding games like Cities Skylines and Planet Coaster (I have the early bird Alpha access) well too. Also high end material. But everyone's definition of "high end" may be different.

 

I notice AMD makes just the R9 390 chip. They do assign other companies like Sapphire, Gigabyte ASUS MSI etc to make the actual GPU. I chose the brand Sapphire cuz it sounds cute, and it gets a lot of good reviews. I heard bad reviews of Gigabyte. The Sapphire
Nitro R9 390 is an overclocked version of the R9 390. It is clocked at 1040Mhz according to their site, just 10Mhz shy of the 1050Mhz stated performance on AMD's site of the 390X. AMD's site states the AMD R9 R90 with a 1000Mhz but my Sapphire version is slightly
overclocked. But the 390X has more compute cores or something. But both 390 and 390x have 512-bit buses and there isn't a HUGE difference between them. Both have 8GB GDDR5 RAM, plenty of vRAM enough for 4k likely.

 

@smilesky they were high end on release, now their a entry level enthusiast card which is why there under £250 and by the end of the year they will be low end parts because they will be out performed by a £160 card.

Do you check out sites like gamingdebate, notebookcheck, AMD, Sapphire, Intel, GPUBoss and CPUBoss? Yes prices do gradually go down even after a month after a new GPU releases.

I decided to get my first custom gaming desktop 3 months ago from a special NZ company (since I live in NZ) which lets you custom build your PC and they'll build it for you and test and troubleshoot and then supply you with your custom PC. I decided to go
for the Intel Core i7-6700k 6th gen processor because it has a high base speed of 4Ghz and it has a newer manufacturing processor 14mn or something compared to the twentysomething nm processing of the AMD FX 8350. And heard from tonnes of people on the net
and YouTube that Intel makes the best CPU's.
