Xbox Play and charge kit no light indicator

The light on your charge cable glows orange to indicate the battery is charging. When the light changes to white, the battery
pack is fully charged. You can use your controller to play while the batteries charge. Maybe try using a battery pack and see if the light come on after a white

So yeah, it sounds like when it's plugged into the cooling pad it is not charging.

The only thing I've been able to find is in this article.

It says at the bottom to check the dashboard to see if your controller is indicated as charging when using a play and charge kit. However, I believe that currently the only way to tell is with a play and charge kit and the USB indicator light on the cord.
Other rechargables and regular batteries you cannot tell from what I've seen and I think that support article may be wrong.

It's still the same.

It is annoying they got rid of the charging animation as the charging cable that comes with the USB-C play & charge kit doesn't have a light on it to show when it's charged like the old play & charge kits.
