File Explore on the console has been removed so you will need to share your recording to OneDrive. Then you can download from any computer by going to OneDrive\Videos\Xbox Game DVR

further to this, I had a brain wave. Perhaps the USB stick that got with the game was the answer....I copied the photos file from my xbox and put it in my laptop...no files found

What I do with my Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 Dashboard backgrounds is I take 4k photos using my Sony CX190 camcorder or my Samsung S5, transfer the photos I've taken to my PC, to USB, stick it in my console, and apply to the background. And since I own the photos
I took, copyright is in my favour since I took the image with my own device, I am the owner of the image.

But it does look some interesting designs on there.
