Xbox Periodically Becomes Unresponsive

My Original Xbox One functions mostly normally, turns on, plays games, etc. However after you have been playing for a while (the issue isn't linked to one particular game) the Xbox sometimes becomes totally unresponsive. It no longer responds to the controller
nor the physical buttons on the console. The only solution is to hard reset the console each time this happens. But sometimes it occurs frequently enough to make playing games impossible (only 5 minutes of gaming followed by a reset at times).

The input actually freezes on whatever the controller input was at the moment of the issue, meaning: if the analog stick was pressed forward at the moment it went unresponsive, the Xbox acts like the stick is pressed down continually until the hard reset.

I would greatly appreciate any help with this issue; I've been completely unable to find anything similar online.

even though you aren't getting the overheating warning, it could be the problem.

Try a hard restart and if that doesn't functions try a factory reset. As last resort send your console for repairs.

This is an odd one, my controllers have been disconnecting recently as well but for never more than a few seconds at a time, and maybe only once during excessive use. For it to randomly become unresponsive for longer periods makes me believe it may be
a hardware issue?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

Please perform a powercycle on your console to fix the issue.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If that didn't work kindly connect your controller using a USB cable and then check if there is an update for your controller.

I have same problem. Already went through three Xbox One Xs. Latest build 1711 did not fix it.

Ok....i read something and cant try it now but wanna share it with you: Put your Xbox directly into the wall power plug and NOT into a multiple power cable (We say Steckerleiste in Germany) should fix it!! Some users say it works on Facebook.

Maybe give it a go......?!

Already tried that. Didn’t work either.
