Xbox PC Specifically Tunic Install / Launch problems

    Hello,

    Windows 10 Xbox App PC

I don't know why this is happening, but Tunic all of a sudden stopped working today. I tried launching and it wasn't going through, saying there was a problem with windows app or something [I don't remember because I can't get back there] with a learn more button that redirected me to a page that didn't resolve. I double check my windows account is connected to the one my game pass is activated on, and I found that it wasn't. It must've swapped accounts at some point. I switch my Microsoft account thinking this will fix it. It doesn't. Relog. Still not working. Now I think, this was happening after Avast said it didn't trust the file SecretLauncher.exe. I didn't quarantine the file, but what the hell. I bypass the firewall and protections, still nothing. So now, I uninstall the game and try reinstalling the game, only now, it doesn't get passed 3% download and giving the error code "0x80070005". I've tried everything I can with the instructions on Xbox site, but it's all for console. Status is fine, "power cycle your Xbox" I guess, reinstall the game (I can't). "Reset your console" I'm not going to reinstall my operating system quite yet, but I don't think that's going to fix it.

Is there something I'm missing? I can run Back 4 Blood, I can install New Super Lucky's Tale no problem, which I never had on this computer before, but Tunic won't respond well. I have to think its a firewall thing, but it's all disabled and the file it found is set to allow even though it doesn't exist in my computer anymore. Might I have to temporarily uninstall my antivirus/firewall?

    :)

Xbox PC Specifically Tunic Install / Launch problems

Thank you for contact us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    Good night

    Follow these steps:
Select the Start button in the lower left corner of the main screen and select Settings.
Select Update and Security > Check for Updates.
Select View optional updates, then select update KB5004476 from the list.
    KB5004476
    Select Download and Install.
When the update is complete, restart the device.
You should now be able to install, update and launch games.

    Are you still in trouble?

Create a notepad file with the following name:
    "RepairGamingServices.ps1"

inside the file paste this text (if quotes):
    "
    Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

    Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices" -recurse
    Remove-Item -Path "HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet" -recurse

    "
Then, to run, right-click on the file, and run as administrator. then restart windows. then you need to open the Xbox app from Windows 10 that will be warning you that you need to install an extra component for the app, accept and wait for the installation. After that, Microsoft guarantees that you will be able to reopen and download Xbox Game Pass games on Windows 10.

BSOD When installing Xbox App games

Im getting this issue too with Tunic today. I've tested my RAM, tested my HDD, and everything is fine, even uninstalled any virus protection.

When I boot the computer with the ethernet cable connected it tries to finish the install of Tunic and it immediately goes to the BSOD. If I remove the ethernet cable and then boot my computer it works perfectly fine, so im sure something is triggering this when the download is being pushed from the store. The problem here is I can't get to the Xbox App fast enough to try and stop the install of Tunic, cause it goes to the BSOD then restarts the PC smh.

I don't even want the game now, I just want my computer to stop doing this.

I’m having the same issue and I have to keep doing system restore. If I try to update any game or install Halo Infinite, it bsod’s me and will keep doing a bsod until I do a system restore.

BSOD When installing Xbox App games

Having the same issue since last night. Tried to install Tunic, and the system hit a SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTON_NOT_HANDLED stop on every restart since. It did boot in Safe Mode with networking. None of the restore points worked, so had to reset.

Tried reinstalling Tunic (and Shredders) during the move back in. Both went fine. Then I updated the Xbox app and tried to install Age of Empires DE. Same BSOD again. Resetting again now, will try to steer clear of updates to the Xbox app until it gets fixed.
