Xbox pc game pass link not working

I bought the xbox pc game pass and was going to give a friend one of the 5 links to have it for 14 days, however when she signed in to recieve the game pass, it took her back to the screen to accept it, where she was again asked to sign in. She hasn't recieved the game pass which we checked on her xbox app on her laptop.

I'm sorry you are experiencing problems with the trial subscription, has your friend been a subscriber before?

I don't mean if she has any currently active subscriptions.

Make sure of that, as the free trial gift is only applicable for new accounts that have never tried the Game Pass service.

If she has never been a subscriber, try to send her a new invitation through this link

Thanks for responding. How does setting home for console work on the PC for the PC Game Pass? Is there even a way to do this so the kids can download PC Game Pass titles that are linked to the Ultimate Pass?

"It didn't work; the link says, 'Unfortunately, this offer is currently only available to members with paid subscriptions to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. If you purchased Game Pass within the last 7 days, please try again later.' However, Game Pass was purchased on September 17th."
