    XBOX PC for Windows APP Would NOT Update & Will NOT Reinstall


    The XBOX APP will not reinstall on my new computer. Initially, it would not update on my new computer. It is supposed to include 3 months of Xbox Game Pass and the app will not work whatsoever. Updating would not work so I tried to uninstall and reinstall, but now it says "Something Unexpected Happened. Reporting this problem will help us understand it better. You can wait a bit and try again or restart your device. That may help. Code: 0x803FB005" This seems to be a WIDESPREAD problem people are having tonight and we have no idea how to fix it!! There are people all over Reddit and other forums talking about it.

    I would not recommend getting a PC for the Xbox App as it generally does not work and is generally very buggy, however any computer with windows 10 can run the windows app, requires essentially nothing.

    it is not the xbox version on the pc via windows store, it is the pc version via the windows/xbox app on pc, same as epic etc.

    any games on pc are pc versions not xbox console versions.

    There is a way for you to remove the Xbox App from your Windows 10 PC. You can uninstall the Xbox App or any built-in apps on Windows 10 using the Windows PowerShell. However, before removing the app, you may visit

    Benefits of running the Xbox app while playing a game on Windows 10.

    If you would like to proceed, please follow the steps below:

    1. Click Start, and then type Windows PowerShell in the search box.
    2. Right-click, and then select Run as administrator.
    3. Type the following command to uninstall the Xbox app: Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage
    4. Hit Enter.

    The App should successfully be removed from the PC. If you decided to install the Xbox App on your PC again, you can go to the Windows Store to install it.
