I've experienced issues like this in the past and it usually has something to do with a background program. See if there's anything in particular that you have running when it's working compared to when it's not working. Also, alt-tabbing can cause some
inconsistencies with some games. Think back to when it didn't work, did you alt-tab that session prior to recording?

Yeah actually, I think that's the issue there, I do alt tab but not during the recording, let's say I play for 2 hours I would alt + tab out to reply to a message on discord or look up something and an hour later I would record a clip, guess that's what
it is then, thanks, but is there any work around other than having to reset my game completely when I alt + tab because usually I have to do that during a game session, if not, that's fine, just looking for any answer with that

I didn't go through any of the steps other than opening up the xbox console companion, searching for the game there and downloading it from the store there. I alt-tabbed back to game pass on the pc and it was installed with the "Play" option... which worked
when clicked.

Other than extremely slow game installs at certain times of the day (as in just go to bed and it will be there in the morning, probably), this is the first real error I've encountered. Was out of town for a week, and like others said, as of last night any
game with the admin tag would not install. Mostly worked fine before I left. Installed most recent computer updates this morning to no changes.

I am the sole user on this 'puter and "run as admin" made no difference.

Chalking it up to "beta".

Typically you can only ALT + TAB if you've got something to ALT + TAB to. If you've got the game open and nothing else, alt tab won't take you anywhere.

Want to tab to the browser during play, open the browser then launch the game. If you can't tab out of the game press the Windows key. Depending on how the game is being run (Full screen or Windows Borderless) you'll either be able to tab to the browser
you opened or you'll need to press the Windows key. The Windows key will either display your desktop Start Menu at the bottom of the screen or take you to the desktop.

I'm a PC gamer too and the above is what I do to get back to the desktop or go to another application.
