Xbox PC application does not recognize my HDD, games download but do not run

But how could a brand new laptop need to wiped and windows re-installing? Surely the xbox application should just work?

Microsoft has released an update to correct this issue. To install the update, follow these steps:

Select the Start button in the lower left corner of the main screen and select Settings.

Select Update and Security > Check for Updates.

Select View optional updates, then select update KB5004476 from the list.

Select Download and Install.

When the update is complete, restart the device.

You should now be able to install, update and launch games.

I cannot find the update you have mentioned. As I mentioned I am using a Windows 11 machine, not sure if that is why I cannot see the update.

Also, when I run the powershell file I get the following error:
