Xbox PC App Will Not Let Me Sign In

So, for the last few months my Xbox PC App has been completely broken.

I have never had issues with it and worked fine for years, then one day I tried to start it up and it simply wouldn't load. The app would open and the pulsing Xbox logo would appear but the homepage would never load. After trying for ages to fix this, I simply gave up.

A few weeks later we get to today, where I loaded up just to see what would happen and the homepage loaded fine. However, when I went to sign in, nothing happened. As you can see in this: https://youtu.be/e1gVaTYo20M I click on the sign in button in multiple different locations and it won't work.

I have tried every single approach I can find on the internet to fix this. I have reinstalled the Xbox app. I have ensured everything in services is up & running and set to automatic. I have used powershell & command prompt to uninstall + reinstall the microsoft store and the Xbox app. I have tried deleting the Accounts & Cache files in C:\Users\[your profile]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_cw5n1h2txyewy\AC\TokenBroker. I am at a complete loss at what to do. All of the solutions that other community members have offered haven't worked, even for issues that seem very similar. As you can see from https://youtu.be/XqZPNHB9Z44, the Xbox Companion App recognises me perfectly, and even accurately detects all of my games.

Interestingly, all of my games that were previously installed on my PC via the Xbox app are still intact, but I cannot access their files. You can see this here from a TreeSize scan

Sea of Thieves, Forza Horizon 4 and Trailmakers are all installed and accounted for, yet when I try to access these files I receive an alert saying I am unable to open the files.

Furthermore, the Xbox PC App does not detect that I have the games installed. They show up in my library, but there is no "Play" option, only "Install." When I click install, it is as though the Xbox App can't detect my hard drive at all as there is no option for an install location, as seen here:

So, it appears I have a very unique issue and have no idea how to solve it. Any help would be very appreciated! But know that I have tried pretty much every solution suggested already. I will welcome any support thrown my way!

this step is for files that cannot be replaced, were you able to replace the file with existo ? if yes, you don't need to do this step.

This can be a bit odd, but please try creating a new local administrator user in your PC and try using the Xbox app from there:

If maybe that doesn’t work, may I know if you already tried these solutions?

1. Run the SFC tool to find and repair possible system corruptions

I have done this to the best of my knowledge;

So ran the test and scan and i got this message: Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.

I then followed the advice for this to my limited knowledge of computer systems etc. I think I found the issue being /mscommc.dll saying it does not match.

I followed the steps under : How to view details of the System File Checker process and i copied the file however I'm stuck to what I do after copied the file, which is detailed in point 3. Something about Destination?

I also tried both of the solutions you offered, but neither of them fixed the issue...

UPDATE:

So, I tried even more solutions online + all the ones listed here and nothing worked. So I left the Xbox PC app installed on my PC and forgot about it for a few weeks...

I come back to it randomly today with no hope and no faith, and there it is. I'm signed in. All my games appear. Happy days.

I have no idea what happened to fix this, but fixed it is. Sorry I can't offer any guidance to people still struggling with this!
