    Hello,

    This issue is occurring specifically with Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus via Gamepass for PC. I had already played the game this way a few times, when suddenly yesterday I received the following error on the main menu when I launched it:

    I'm definitely signed in on my app, and other Gamepass games launch without an issue. It's extra confusing because, as I said, the game had been working previously. I spent a while on the phone with Microsoft support and they didn't really seem to know about this or have a solution, despite the fact that I see similar issues with other games when Googling. I think it's specific to the app (authentication of some kind?) rather than an issue with the game, even though it's only happening with one title (right now that I can tell), since the app is in charge of sign ins and Xbox Live etc, not the game.

    I've tried several things that I found when searching for help, like deleting the token folders in the AppData > Local structure, resetting and clearing the app, re-installing the game, but nothing has worked. This seems to be something that pops up occasionally with certain titles and either does or does not fix itself based on what I've seen on other forum posts. Anyone have a fix or idea? Thanks.

    Please try the solutions below.

    Solution 1:

    Open RegEdit as an administrator and delete the following Services:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServices]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\GamingServicesNet]

    PC reboot

    Install gaming service like you would normally

    Solution 2:

    Go to your windows settings, go to the tab>applications and resources>Search for Gaming Services, click on it, go to advanced options, and tap repair.

    *If that doesn't work try the following.

    First uninstall the Xbox app, after that proceed with the steps below, make sure you are installing the game on the same partition where the Xbox app is located.

    Note: Uninstall the game too, before uninstalling the Xbox app.

    After that, do the following:

    1. Open Settings ---> System

    2. In the left column, choose the Storage tab and choose "Change where new content is saved"

    3. Change "New apps will be saved to:" to any desired drive (in my case D drive)

    4. Wait 2 minutes and restart your PC.

    5. The Microsoft Store has now created the necessary folders for the Xbox app to use.

    6. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to change your location back to default if desired.

    7. Now you can download your games from the Xbox app to your desired drive/partition

    *After that install the Xbox application again from the Microsoft Store, and download the game that was in error.

    Unfortunately neither of these worked...and for a while solution 1 put me in a loop. After removing RegEdit services, I got stuck in the following loop: Launch game from Xbox app->Windows Store prompt telling me it needs to install Game Services utility->Install Game Services utility in Windows Store->Try again to launch a game in Xbox app->Again opens Windows Store to install Game Services even though it was already installed->Repeat.

    Fortunately I fixed that loop with step one of solution 2 (repairing Gaming Services function in the Windows settings>applications tab), but anyone else be warned that if you don't do that part too, the app will get stuck without Game Services able to run, then you can't launch any Xbox app games.

    Anyway, yes, back to square one: Still getting the same Xbox Live Sign-In error when launching Wolfenstein after attempting both of those solutions. :(
