    Hi, I'm creating this thread, not because I didn't fix the issue on my end, but because I want the issue to be fixed overall. It's not the first time me or my friends have had this issue and however while searching online I didn't find anything related to this in specific, and specially no real fix. The games in the Xbox PC App are not updated, however the app OR the microsoft store tells you there's no new update and consequently nothing updates, making it impossible to play the games. Now the fix is easy, just reinstall the game, but what is the point of doing that Every Single Time. I found some other ways to try and force the update, but with the time I took to find them there's not even any point in mentioning it here. I would like to know how is it possible, in my case, to open a game such as Dead By Daylight, the game opens and says it needs a patch and that's just it, no update is shown from the app, even if the game is already telling you. There should be a way to at least, know the app that something is wrong, to fix it itself. I restarded the app, I restarted the microsoft store, my PC, there was no point. Would just like this issue addressed, taken care of, and at least a thread so that the next person that has this issue won't be lost like me.

    Xbox Companion App Changed?

    Xbox updated their PC apps recently with the introduction of the PC Game Pass. They changed the name of the Xbox app to the Xbox Console Companion and there is another app for PC Game Pass now. I'm not sure if they changed anything in the console app other
    than that.

    Just to clarify, are you entering the console IP address and not you computer's IP address?

    Sorry to hear that you are having issues downloading a new game. Please know that you installing recently released games within Xbox App on PC is one of the known issues for today.

    Xbox App (PC)

    • Players experiencing issues updating games within the Xbox App on PC
      • Some recently released games on the Xbox App for PC are not reflecting the correct update. If you encounter an issue updating a game within the Xbox app or indicates that an update is required, but the Xbox app does not show one available, use the Windows 10 Store to download and install the update.
      • To Update your game Via the Windows Store, click on this link for guidance. Get updates for apps and games in Microsoft Store
      • After your games finish updating, launch the Xbox App on PC, and your game should now launch normally from within the Xbox App

    Is the Xbox App Broken on PC?

    We understand that you have tried the fix provided by my colleague. If the issue still persists, it could be an update or restart could help. In any case this would not fix the issue, please try the steps we have provided below and let us know how it went.

    Check and install the latest Windows update:

    • It's important that your PC is up to date. Install PC updates, including optional updates. Guide - Update Windows
    • Restart the device after the update.

    Install the Xbox app:

    • Try installing the Xbox app through the link by selecting Download App. Link: Xbox app for Windows PC | Xbox.
    • Open the downloaded installer and then install the Xbox app. Install the Xbox app and let us know if it will launch.
    • Note:
      • System requirements vary by game. Performance evolves with high-end systems. To play games on the Xbox app for PC, it may be necessary to exit Windows S mode.
      • ARM devices support Xbox cloud gaming functionality only on the Xbox app. Game Pass Ultimate or a supported free game is required to play in the cloud.

    Then, if the problem persists, try running our beta repair tool:

    • Check the version number of the Xbox app since you can't launch the Xbox app, go to PC Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > search for Xbox and select the Xbox app. Look for the version number of the app.
      • If the version number is 2311.1001.7.0 or newer (higher), try downloading the Game Services Repair Tool (Beta).
      • For older versions, please update the Xbox app through the Microsoft Store.
    • Download the Game Services Repair Tool on your PC (beta version) by clicking on this link:

    Sorry to hear about that, however, try to check if there are pending updates on your PC. This includes optional updates as well.

    Go to your PC Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates

    If it has, check your Microsoft store app > Library > Get Updates and ensure that your apps are up to date.

    If it still won't work, try to repair your Xbox app, Gaming Services app and Microsoft store app, by going to your PC settings > Apps > Installed apps > click the 3 dots > Advance options > Repair and do this to the other apps I've listed > Restart your PC.
