Xbox PC app flashing please wait window when I try to sign on

Hello,

I am trying to sign into the Windows 10 Xbox app and when I click sign in, I get a pop up that says "please wait" it flashes three times and then I am not signed in. I have

Uninstalled and reinstalled the app

restarted my PC

I even tried the following to no avail:

Press Windows + R on the keyboard.  

Type msconfig, and then click OK.  

On the General tab, click the Normal Startup, and then click OK.  

When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.  

If the issue persists, make sure that all the Xbox Live Services are enabled. You may follow the steps below:

Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type Services in the search box.

Once the Services window opens, scroll down and look for Xbox Live Auth Manager, Xbox Live Game Save, and Xbox Live Networking Service.

You have to repeat the steps on each service. Right-click on each service and click Properties.

Make sure that the Startup type is set to Automatic.

If the Service status is stopped, click on Start.

Click OK to save the settings.

After enabling the services, clear the local Xbox Identity data on your PC.

Open the File Explorer and paste the following into the address bar to go to a specific location on your computer:
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_cw5n1h2txyewy\AC\TokenBroker

Delete any accounts and cache folders that you can see at this location.

Launch the Xbox App and sign in to your account again.

I had this issue around a year ago. I could tell you all the 10 steps I followed to solve it, unfortunately what helped me to solved this was to restart my PC as it comes here:

In the part of Windows 10 click on "Reset this PC" these instructions will help you to solve the problem, you can even leave your important files!

What happens when you try to sign into the Windows 10 Xbox app? Is there an error message and error code you receive? In the meantime, please ensure that your Windows 10 PC is fully updated by searching 'Check for updates' through the Start menu.

Please test the following potential solution:

Step 1.
Press the Windows key + R key to open the Run window > type wsreset.exe > wait until the store opens automatically, and sign out of your account.

Note: Sign out from your account on the Xbox app one more time.

Step 2.
Press the Windows key + I to open PC Settings > Apps & Features > Installed apps > locate the Xbox app and go to advanced settings > click on “repair” and “reset”.
Open the Xbox app and sign out of your account.

Step 3.
Restart your PC and sign in with your account on both the Xbox app and the Microsoft Store.

Note: Make sure to check if your PC and their apps are up-to-date.

After doing these steps, please check if you're able to get the Game Pass benefits.

Please try uninstalling and re-installing the Xbox App if you are trying to sign in on it.

Try also to check the steps on this link if you are experiencing issues logging in to the app on your PC Fix problems signing in to the Xbox app (microsoft.com).

when i try to sign in on the xbox app it just turns black, stays like that for while then anothe window appears and disappears 3 times saying "please wait" and then it just goes back to the main screen. When i tried launching forza horizon 4 it just says " you may not proceed without being signed in to a profile".
