Xbox PC and Android APP's not bringing up Keyboard when attempting to type on the xbox

Hi all,

For the last few weeks i have been plagued with a rather annoying bug.

I use quite heavily the xbox apps for easier typing on games like ARK however the option to do so has stopped pooping up in the apps when selecting a text box on my xbox one.

I have tried various solutions i have found online but none have fixed it.

I have tried uninstalling the apps and reinstalling them as well as a hard reset on the console itself i have also tried resetting my router to no avail.

If anyone has any other ideas to try i would appreciate it very much.

Xbox App Keyboard

Not quite the same issue but I have a sporadic issue with the app on iOS not letting me type to my system from my phone for messages or error reports. Tapping on my phone just registers as button inputs instead of bringing up a virtual keyboard.
Really annoying and unfixed bug. Maybe the same for the PC app and regular keyboards?

Which app is this? Does it allow you to type everything on your Xbox using your phone? I'm keen to try this

Try performing a another hard reset but do it EXACTLY like this,

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

If you have an iOS, Android, Windows Phone or Windows 8.1/10 device you could download the app "Xbox 360 Smartglass" and connect that to the console, which will allow you to use the phone/tablet/laptop as a keyboard for the console.

But going back to the on-screen keyboard, why are you not able to type a full stop (dot, or period)? It should be at the bottom of the keyboard, or press either of the controller's triggers (either RT or LT) to bring up other special characters where you
should find it.

On your console or on your Windows 10 PC's Xbox Console Companion app, open your profile and edit.

Type anything you want into the Bio field. Be it "I am a job maker" or if you want to use Emojis, use the Emoji keyboard on the Xbox One, or on your Windows 10 PC press Windowskey + . (period) to bring up an Emoji selection.

You can connect your phone to the Xbox over a local WiFi network using the official Xbox app for iOS/Android, and use your phone's keyboard to type messages, URLs, and other text when using the Xbox.

Otherwise, I am not exactly sure what you're asking.
