Xbox Pass Ultimate back to Gold

I recently renewed my xbox live gold account in December for 12 months (£49.99). Saw the xbox pass ultimate offer for £1 for 3 months and converted over.

Now if i cancel my subscription for xbox pass as my 3 months are up i'm guessing this will also cancel my xbox live gold?

which means i will have to sign up again for xbox live gold at £49.99????

obviously the issue i'm trying to avoid is having paid £50.99 for xbox live and game pass for 3 months combined, then having to pay another £49.99 for just gold.
