Xbox party without headsets?

Hello Jake, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your party chat.

I'm afraid there are no products that you can buy that will allow that other than the old Kinect which is no longer supported.

However, what you could do is go into your cosole audio settings where you can set your chat to Headset, TV or Both. You can switch it to both and keep the headset with the mike out for both.

G'day GrumDog! Are you using your Astro headset to chat as well as listen, or is your Kinect sensor in use for voice chat? Can you try a party chat without the headset (or with the official Xbox headset) to see if the volume changes as drastically?

Lots are in their own private parties.



Lots are playing without a headset.



A good few are wearing their headsets and chatting.



If you play "Conquest" you've more chance of bumping into speakers I've found.

"should technically" is the key part there. With my setup, I have a Xbox Series X connected via HDMI to a Capture Card and the Capture Card to the TV. In-Game Party voice comms are sent to the Capture Card when my headset is disconnected from the Xbox Controller, but when I reconnect the headset to the controller, then voice comms are no longer sent to the Capture Card. With or Without the Party setting to speakers and headset turned on. Are you using a headset in your setup? And, do you have the HDMI Headset box checked?

What kind of headset is it? Most of the headsets have a mute button located either on the headset itself, or the cord connecting it to the controller. Also does he have a chatpad? All of these have buttons that can mute a mic, without him clicking the mute
button in the party.
