Xbox party network error (network settings are blocking party chat)

The same thing is happening to me and I am really frustrated because I called Xbox support and they weren't helpful at all and I have tried all of the stuff above and it is not working, really frustrated with Xbox rn

I too have the same problem.Everything was fine since getting xbox 1 on dec19.On jan.3 2016 my son tried to play with his pals and when he plugged in his headpiece it said [YOUR NETWORK SETTINGS ARE BLOCKING PARTY CHAT,0x89231806.When I go on xbox site there
is no such code!!!375.00 for this?Did the Microsoft help thing via txt and she cldnt figure it out,even with the error code.Had me do all that I had allready done,i.e.turn off,reboot,etc.,etc.,.Seems a bzillion new Xbox 1 owners know what Im talking about,but
Microsoft doesnt even seem to know theres a problem!Please help us.My son is ten and Im very frustrated!

Hello, I don't consider myself an expert by any means, but we experienced this exact same issue. Nothing changed at or house or ISP (who I called and verified), nothing changed on my router, the only change was the XBOX One update.

I did some research, and then went into network settings and changed my network configuration to be statically (manually) assigned (no longer DHCP). I double checked my router settings, made sure NAT settings were open, rebooted cable modem/router, contacted
my ISP (cox) and still had problems, so I contacted XBOX support. She was very helpful. She noticed that my upload was below 1.5 mbps (min. requirement), but my ISP is much faster than that. She gave me the DNS settings that I needed to setup manually.
They were Primary DNS (8.8.8.8) and Secondary DNS (8.8.4.4). Did a reboot of the Xbox One...and boom...it worked! My son was able to start party chatting again with his friends. I'm not sure if all or part of these steps resolved this issues...but I'll
take it.

Quick Summary

I have found the issue that is making this happen. It is the xbox not thinking it has the update when it actually does. Unfortunately I have no idea of how to fix it,but just to let everyone know this may be the issue. This is the issue for me at least.
