Xbox party chats unable to detect array microphone.

I have a newly bought laptop, which has a working mic that works through steam, discord, and all other services I use it on. The Xbox app on my pc when I test my mic shows it is picking up audio, but when I join any party chat it says the mic is not being detected. Though if I change it from mic array to the other option in my pc, it detects that but that mic doesn't actually collect any audio and seems to be useless.

In party chat, you can hear your friends and none can hear you, right?

Go to settings>Gaming>Xbox Network wait for the test to be completed and click on ''fix'' and try again.

That generic support doesn't really apply here. The problem is with a PC microphone, not an Xbox One microphone. The Xbox App on PC detects the mic and it works if I start a party via the app, but it doesn't work in any capacity on the Xbox One for parties
or game chat.

What kind of headphones is your son using? These are connected to the gamepad/controller or to the USB on the Xbox One?

Also, if you start a party chat on the console, does it detect a Microphone or you see on the screen something like "No microphone was detected on these users"? For checking this :

- Power on the XBOX

- Press XBOX Button on the gamepad

- Press left two times

- Start group

And you should see that message in there in case that it doesn't detect a microphone.

The xbox is detecting that a microphone is there by the icon in the top right corner but the bubble does not light up when i speak in party chat. Ive also tried using other headsets but have the same problem
