    Xbox Party Chat uses pc sounds, not mic


    Hello,

    Recently i left xbox companion console, and updated to the new xbox app for pc. Since then i've not been able to speak in a party. People in my party report that they hear themselfses back, but not me. This also shows as when they speak, around me it also gives a white circle indicating that i am speaking, but when i actually speak, it doesnt.

    When i go to a website that recordes my voice and then play it, they can hear it. Via this i came to the conclusion that they hear the sounds that come OUT of my pc. Instead of the sounds my mic brings IN.

    Any way to fix this?

    No idea. As soon as thechat mic is out of controller chat sound comes through but you have to use mic. Also as Party Chat is not working is it possible to use skype in the background instead?

    If you are not using a kinect as a mic party chat will not reduce game sound, you then have power of voice volume through mic and game volume through television.

    I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble getting it to work.. Have you tryed using a different Mic? Also sometimes in your settings your party Chat can be muted without you realizing it. Sounds like you could fix it using a different Mic than your Camera
    Mic. Try Party chat, and using a Headset to see if it's a Hardware issue first.

    I have the exact same issue.

    Only I'm using the new Elgate Capture Card HD60x

    On the xbox series x I'm using a Logitech-G Headset G433 Zwart.

    When I unplug the headset from the controller I can capture teammates mic sound.

    As soon as I plugin the headset, it stops capturing teammates sound.

    In the Xbox party chat, passthrough and "speaker and headset" is selected.

    (when using the Elgato chat link, all works, but I don't want to use the anolog audio, but the HDMI audio. I have a separated Mic connected to the recording PC for my voice. I only need the mic connected to the controller to communicate in the game).

    I only talk it if someone else talks. But I go to party chat if players use their Kinect Mic. They sound so horrible and annoying.
