  1. Xbox Party Chat on PC shows talking when not for Bluetooth devices

When I connect to bluetooth headsets for audio for xbox party through gamebar or xbox app, I have tested with 2 different ones including the Xbox Wireless Headset, the audio sounds fine, the microphone works fine and those in my party say it sounds normal, but the circle around my name flickers like it is transmitting intermittently. When I talk it lights up solid until I am done, it also shows that I am talking to my party members which makes it very distracting.

If I plug the Xbox Wireless Headset into the computer the issue goes away or if I switch to a microphone in my webcam, but what is the point of having a wireless headset if it only works properly when plugged in?

I have tested this on 2 computers, one with windows 10 and one with windows 11 and both have the same issue.

    :)

And the other people in the party can hear you when that happens?
Or is just like a visual bug?

I had seen this advice in another thread and none of these help the issue, the microphone works, the headset works, but the software incorrectly shows that it is transmitting when silent. Even when I mute with a button on the headset the xbox party interface flashes like I am talking.

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.

Hope you're doing great today despite this Chris

Please try and double check this to see if something changes:
"Format" for your Microphone in the sound settings for your input device

Go to your Settings > Navigate to Bluetooth & devices
Select Devices > Scroll down to Related settings and select Sound
Select your audio input device under Input.

In the next menu, you should see Format under Input settings. Select an audio format that's no higher than 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)
Try joining a party in the Game Bar or the Xbox app to verify whether or not the changes solved the issue. If that doesn't work, try adjusting the audio format by repeating the steps above to verify if any other format works.

If that doesn't work try this:
Open Xbox Game Bar > Go to Audio widget > Select the Voice
Change Windows default input to the wireless headset or microphone you'd like to use.
Change Default communications input and output to the headset or microphone you'd like to use.

Scroll down to More Settings > Xbox Party Chat
Change Audio output and input to the headset or microphone you'd like to use.

Verify that push to talk is not enabled

    Finally open the Xbox app

Click your profile icon at the top right corner of the page
    Select Settings > Audio
Set your default Input device and output device to the headset or microphone you'd like to use.
Verify that push to talk is not enabled again

Please also double check if you have audio enhancements enabled, if yes disable it.

It is a visual bug, but it is also effects the other party members in their overlay on either PC or Xbox it shows that I am transmitting so it just puts my gamertag on their screen all the time which is very frustrating for them.

    I completely get that.
Thanks and sorry for the inconveniences. Exists the possibility that a recent game bar update caused the problem.

In this case the best option is report this problem to Microsoft using the feedback hub app.
